satyam1729 Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Wana guess the name of the only team which made it straight to four ICC events semis within 4 years? Want to know which team is no.1 in the same ICC rankings and which is no.7 .
Prakat Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Want to know which team is no.1 in the same ICC rankings and which is no.7 . pwned. :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:
ViruRulez Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 To all the BSers who are saying rankings do not mean anything and WC is more important, I would just like to ask you that are these best of three matches or are these knockout matches. AFAIK these are knockouts and it is BS to say that these are the actual proof of a team's caliber. Make it best of 3 matches or make every round based on points like in the group stage and then I will accept WC is better than the rankings. Otherwise these are bloody knockouts and do not reflect the real potential of a team by any means.
King Tendulkar Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Pakis trying to dismmis rankings. Pathetic. But its great seeing how jealous they are of mighty India:--D
youngindia Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Rankings means nothing unless all teams play equal number of matches and series home & away in a given period. Just look at at current test rankings. India is number 1 but they have not won a series in Aus' date='SA,SL & Pak in last years.[/quote'] it only means we are not like the all conquering team like the wi and aus of the past. Aus,SA,SL & Pak don't win in india either..aus 2004 were the last when they were the undisputed champions. its performance relative to other competititors....the keyword is relative
youngindia Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Wana guess the name of the only team which made it straight to four ICC events semis within 4 years? 3 of them in t20s- the most incomplete form of the game which hides the weknesses of half baked cricketers like afridi :hysterical: test cricket is the real thing.ask imran!
Zap_Brannigan Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 ICC events seems to be the new buzz word around..who fking cares about ICC tournaments that happens every year..I wonder how long pak was the T20 champions?9 months? Even IPL trophy winners last longer!!
ShahidAfridi Posted March 26, 2011 Author Posted March 26, 2011 Knockout matches are a true test of a team. Pressure - Mental strength is the key component of becoming a top team. Ask Australia Ask South Africa
Prakat Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Knockout matches are a true test of a team. Pressure - Mental strength is the key component of becoming a top team. Ask Australia Ask South Africa ok. :--D
Sid Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Knockout matches are a true test of a team. Pressure - Mental strength is the key component of becoming a top team. Ask Australia Ask South Africa Wow Shahid Afridi talking about Mental strength :omg:
Prakat Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Knockout matches are a true test of a team. Pressure - Mental strength is the key component of becoming a top team. Ask Australia Ask South Africa By that definition the Indian win over Australia scores over the Paki win over Australia because ours was a knock out match. And therefore we are mentally stronger than the Australians - the previous world cup champions. But we knew that already. :icflove:
pinkfreud Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Ranking is indicator of consistency not one off matches. Most sensible post in this thread and the answer, really. What a dumb thread. Has the OP never watched tennis, football, basketball, and any other competitive sport where rankings dictate who is the best sportsman/team at the time? I'm guessing not. Perhaps hide and seek, gilli danda, and lagori are the OP's games of choice.
youngindia Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Knockout matches are a true test of a team. Pressure - Mental strength is the key component of becoming a top team. Ask Australia Ask South Africa totally wrong plenty of top notch talent is the mark of a top team. that's why australia was a undisputed champion before and nowhere near a champion now. look at the dominant WI and australian teams- great bowlers and great batsmen.that's all there is to it. mental strength means you bring your best under pressure . if your best is a no7, you will be a no7! you can't make up for lack of talent. there is areasdon why federer, nadal and djokovic win GS and others don't.
Sachin=GOD Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 If you are good in ranking, they matter...................if you are not good in rankings, they don't matter :--D
Prakat Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 If you are good in ranking' date=' they matter...................if you are not good in rankings, they don't matter :--D[/quote'] :cantstop::cantstop::cantstop:

Ask Australia Ask South Africa Well you have never won a knock out match against us. So thats makes you rubbish according to objective rankings and lahori logic
ShahidAfridi Posted March 26, 2011 Author Posted March 26, 2011 Well you have never won a knock out match against us. So thats makes you rubbish according to objective rankings and lahori logic When was the last time you won a world cup :haha:
