youngindia Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 The pitch while it certainly played a role,i would like to know how much the team prepared against ajmal and wahab riaz. Ajmal caused problems even in the champions trophy match and the ODI in SL. it was annoying to see the batsmen were still not picking him after 2 matches. They also had some problems with wahab's line. sehwag's and dhoni's dismissals were due to lack of technical refinement in backfoot defence. we could have cruised match if not for this unfamiliarity with the newcomers . i certainly didn't like this nasty surprise and it didn't prove as costly as the mendis super run in 2008 . they will be sorted out in a number of matches.but its up to the team management to avoid this surprises and study videos and opponents extensively.to mewhoever is responsible has done a sloppy job in preparation. unfamiliar players like mendis and hughes are dangers of the trade hopefully lankans have no new devils in the next few days
vvvslaxman Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Ya.. last time when RIaz bowled to us he was very raw. He was cartered around for 86 runs in 10 overs. This time he had some tricks up his sleeve. I am sure we will play him far better in the next meeting. Last time Viru plundered him around.
Manny_Pacquiao Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 ajmal is a good bowler. i rate him highly and i always thought he was gonna cause us the most problems. tendulkar couldnt pick him at all, which is saying something. wahab was dangerous cos he was getting it to reverse. should have targeted the guy and knocked him off his line. u cant reverse the ball if both sides get scuffed up after being hit to the boundary.
Cricket Tragic Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 As well as Riaz bowled, the Indians underestimated him. If he bowls again, he will get smashed.
Sid Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Ajmal performs well against us ,I thought Raina played him best today,he was the one who was picking his each and every delivery.
Karan114 Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 wahab was dangerous cos he was getting it to reverse. should have targeted the guy and knocked him off his line. u cant reverse the ball if both sides get scuffed up after being hit to the boundary. True. He has some pace so once he was getting it to reverse, it was tough work. The ball to Yuvi was a corker
youngindia Posted March 30, 2011 Author Posted March 30, 2011 they will be sorted out eventually after a number of matches. akthar took 8 wicket sin that calcutta test and caused some problems initially.but came 2003, he was carted around. but the job of the team anagement is to avoid this suprises in the first place.
Karan114 Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Ajmal performs well against us ' date='I thought Raina played him best today,he was the one who was picking his each and every delivery.[/quote'] Raina is excellent against spin...remember how he sorted out Mendis in the 2008 series in Lanka when the others (bar Sehwag) were under his spell
Manny_Pacquiao Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 yeah, these paki phaaaaaasht bowlers will have their customary one good game against India. eventually, they all become cheap bowlers that are easy to score off. remember oomar goul took a fiver against india on debut, and look at him now. the guy pisses his pants when bowling to india.
Sid Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Raina is excellent against spin...remember how he sorted out Mendis in the 2008 series in Lanka when the others (bar Sehwag) were under his spell Ya Raina is brilliant against spin ,I still havent forgotten his 4 6s in over against Mendis's mystery in last years CLT20 :cantstop:
vvvslaxman Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Ajmal is definitely a thorne in our flesh. Gauti usually plays him well. But today he got out to innocuous Hafeez.
