ICC confirms 10 teams for next two World Cups

I think Irish showed enough - to have been given a chance to make it to 2015. With a 2015-carrot in front of them - May be they could have also become better than Bangladesh/Pakistan in 4 years.

Really disappointed with the ICC announcement. Once again...ICC proved...they want money......expanding the game boundries are bullshit they talk to media. IMO...Ireland is much higher then the likes of WI, BD, Zim...& yet..they will not play in the 2015 WC. ICC has no plan or roadmap to improve the cricket in any country outside the 10 Test playing countries. & all this that the associates will play in T20 is another Bullshit. All associates will get to play in 3 group games. I so badly hope that associate once again damage the dreams of ICC by knocking not 1-2 big teams but 5-6 big teams out of the group stage & making all ICC **** their pants. By the time associates will think of 2019...Cricket as a game in those countries will go back to dark age.

this announcement is for both 2015 and 2019....................so the associates' case has been put to rest for the next 12 years till the 2023 WC. The ICC is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring the cricket remains a sport played by handful of countries :wall: :wall:

Same, I'm so disappointed to see that Ireland are going to miss out after providing genuine competition in the group stages. If teams like Ireland are going to get "rewarded" for making progress in this way, just what is the point for them to play the game?

^ If you ask me Ireland did way better then Bangladesh (even though they only won 2 games). Ireland was very close against WI and BD. Anyways ICC has taken a very wrong turn which will litteraly come back to hunt them. I am surprised that they don't see the bigger picture. The more nation that is getting developped (and WC 50 over is their goal to get better) the more income they will generate in the future. Even if they decide to do a knock out round for the lower ranked team vs the associated for the 2019 WC, lets say BD does not qualify for the 2019 WC then they are going to loose a huge amount of money because one of the 4 asian country did not quality (one as crazy about cricket as us) which brings a lot of revenue in aswell. Politic is a dirty tihng.

Worst decision ever It is like changing the fifa world cup from 32 teams to 10 teams, changing the olympics from 150+ teams to 15 teams If this continues, every minnow will be a minnow and no one will improve.
