satyam1729 Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 semi-final.He scored 44 of 93 balls. How was this better than Misbah innings in semi-final ? Or Pakiz are making him a scapegoat because loss to India is not acceptable.. http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/65154.html
imran666 Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 theres a big time diffrence ..in 1992 44 of 93 balls was considered ok .but now cricket has become so fast ..and imran came in at 1 down if iam nt wrong and rameez raja was playing quit fast on the other end and imran knew if pak can keep wickets for last 10 overs he has big hitters who can easly score 80-90 runs ...and the biggest diffrence is it worked unlike misbah

Unfortunately nobody was able to do what Inzamam did.
Sachin=GOD Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 and what exactly is the need to demean Imran Khan at this point of time, 19 years after he played that knock :hmmm:
satyam1729 Posted April 5, 2011 Author Posted April 5, 2011 and what exactly is the need to demean Imran Khan at this point of time' date=' 19 years after he played that knock :hmmm:[/quote'] I am not demeaning . Just saying Misbah was not responsible for Pakistan's loss as it is made out to be.
BeautifulGame Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 In 1992 final Pak were batting first so Imran had a total in mind and hence batted slowly to preserve wkts for latter over on slaught. As it turned out that total proved enough and they won.Whereas Misbah let RR climb by getting bogged down. But i agree blaming Misbah alone is poor from Pak fans.We just bowled intelligently and choked the run flow and Pak kept losing wkts.So i a sense he was forced to play like that.

king2be98 Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 There is nothing wrong with the way Imran batted because he had the intent, he was trying to rotate the strike, he had an actual plan. Misbah did not have a plan, Misbah wasn't even looking to score at all. There is a huge difference between the two. Misbah has won India 2 world cups, which Pakistan should have won, the fact that he got Pakistan into a position to win them is completely irrelevant, because coming close is not good enough. Players like Misbah should be thrown over the border, cause he's done more good for oppositions sides than his own side.

Both of Pakistan's 1992 WC and T20 WC 2009 was a fluke. Pakistan is the only team in the history of T20 WC and ODI WC that has won WC without having the best W/L ratio in tournament. Pakistan is a fluke team.

Yeah its always Pakistan should have won, Pakistan lost this, Pakistan threw that, the opposition can NEVER be better than mighty Pakistan. Keep living in your delusional world that a batting line-up that would embarrass most village teams is somehow the rightful winner of every cricket game and only loses because of its own performance and the opposition is just there to make up the numbers. What a pathetic, frustrated bitter man you are.

Weren;t you 7-80 for 6 or 7 down? Misbah got you closer and it was a solo effort. Even in the semifinal, you needed 110-115 runs in 100 balls with 5-6 wikets in hand. If hitters like Razzaq and Afridi failed completely, why blame Misbah. As he said he was instucted to hold one end up while others were expected tohit fromthe other end. But for Misbah, the semi final would have been lost by over 50 runs as well!!
king2be98 Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Yes of course Indian fans might will think Pakistan "are village class" and didn't come close to winning. But all the neutrals, every single person outside of India who watched the recent game said the same, Pakistan beat Pakistan, India did not beat Pakistan. India are a better team, but on that day for 75 overs we were better, that was despite dropping Tendulkar 4 times, the Sehwag start and having a poor batting line up like we do. It was definately more of a choke from Pakistan than a game won by India. But of course Indian fans will continue to come out with "our stunning bowling and fielding outdid your village batsmen".

And all those neutral fans agree that Pakistan's 1992 WC was a fluke. They also agree that Pakistan can't win anything without ball tampering and drugs. Fact is Pakistan is no.6 ranked team and have garbage batting and fielding.

You may as well not get close in the first place. He battered Harbhajan Singh who wasn't even trying to deceive batsmen (only aiming for the blockhole) for 3 6s in one over in that game and Joginder Sharma for 1 in the final over, not exactly threatening bowlers are they. Both should have been smashed by Misbah, by Sohail Tanvir or whoever else was batting during that phase. Like I said, Misbah has helped India win 3 games, I remember the tie in the T20 as well, what a joke, he had 3 balls to get a single and the punk kept tapping it gently to cover and mid off. Hope this pile of garbage never plays for us again, he's a curse for us.

ravishingravi Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Misbah is being unfairly targetted but let me explain Imran's innings and its necessity 1) The games were played in Aus off season and ball used to move around early 2) Pakistani batsmen were inept against new ball and got found out in early part of the WC 3) Imran promoted himself and decided he will see off the new ball and allow the hitters to have a full go at the balling hoping to reach around 250 3) He, Raja and Javed played through the first 30 overs allowing Inzamam, Akram to have a go in last 15 overs. Context is very important.

Did I say at any point winning 92 was not without huge luck? The rain helped us in 92, good thing Misbah wasn't around then. Also your arguments are kind of lame, why not address the points I made instead of going through your monthly period because someone said something against India.

Pakistan couldn't chase 220 against India in 1992 and 1999. Even if they had restricted India to 220, they would have bottled the run chase. Fact is Pakistan are chokers against India at big stage.

No I didn't, I mentioned the Pak vs Ind encounters where Misbah has played. To try and make a point you're actually picking out other games, which goes to show how pathetic your comebacks are. Yes Pakistan choked, but Misbah choked 3 times when the game was there to be won, that's the point being made. You really ought to grow up and hold a sensible discussion instead of taking everything to heart, that's what pregnant women do.
king2be98 Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Misbah has shown many times now, he is not a man for the pressure situations, whereas the others have crossed the finishing line (if not against India then other sides) but Misbah has a knack of the stupid or unexplained, he's old, time for him to in no uncertain terms, get lost and never play for us agian.
