ganeshran
We always seem to select batsmen to coach the Indian team while employing a bowling coach as a secondary consultant. Why not BCCI go the other way this time and keep a bowler as the primary coach? Someone like Akram or Donald might be able to mentor younger kids the right way and not turn them into trundlers like most of our bowling coaches seem to do. Link to comment
Sachin=GOD
On a serious note, I like the idea of a bowler and someone like Donald or Pollock or Kumble can be a good choice because we've always had problems with almost all out young bowlers coming into the team as exciting prospects and fading away into oblivion very quickly. Prakat
Akram may not get into the shortlist for other reasons. But yeah, a bowling coach does seem like the way to go now. Donald should be good. Very unobtrusive, in the Kirsten mould, unlike Warne. Link to comment
ganeshran
^^ No Warne please. Saala poori team ko kharab kar dega I also agree Donald would be the best way to go, he was with the Kiwis, not sure if his contract ended. Link to comment

Zelig
If you want a bowling coach, get Andy Bichel in. I say, make a cool customer like Darren Lehmann as the chief coach, suplimented by Bichel as bowling coach. :agree: Link to comment

someone
Whoever the coach is,it is important he must not by any means outspoken. He should stay in the background. Moreover, if it possible not watch any indian channels or talk to any indian media. Therefore, Indian coaches are always under more pressure. Link to comment
ganeshran
Who said? :dontknow: IPL runs for just six weeks, you T20 illiterate :beee: Abe dhakkan, CSK coaching job is a three month gig so if Bichel takes over the reins now he wont be free for another three months. And we need a coach before that. Link to comment
anotherhawkeye
Whoever is the candidate, a bowler as coach is a great idea. Akram would make a great coach, if only he is not a paki. He is my (only) favorite paki player. Link to comment
