Vikas Bhatt Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 This whole cricket diplomacy of Manmohan Singh by inviting Pak PM and turning thge game into a diplomatic wrangle was unnecessary and detrimental to the game. I am surprised such moves are not tried in hockey matches or tennis matches. Cricket;s popularity is being abused and hijacked by politicians now. This whole thing nearly threatened to push the cricket semi-finals to the back burners and reducing it's importance shifting focus to politicians. Last time India won the T20 championship Sharad Pawar and his party NCP hijacked the whole Mumbai roadshow, made the players sit in the back while their vain and venal politicians sat in the front and tried to take credit and hog the whole limelight as a party affair. The cricket team's win was abused shamelessly for political gloating like Sharad Pawar had won the cup for India. Now MMS is trying to hog some credit and trying to divert people's attention from the various scams and SC investigations into his Govt.'s misdeeds by opening up the Pak frontier. Pak has been snubbing us over 36/11 attacks and is trying to sweep the world's outrage under the attack. It refuses to co-operate with us, while we have offered our self respect to them to trample on again thanks to our PM. He is contemplating sending our cricket team to tour Pak and seems to have forgotten public anger over Mumbai attacks and the fact that after an attack on the Lankan team in broad daylight [despite assurances of Presidential security]there is a reason why cricket teams don't tour there. Indian teams are easy targets for fanatics under current hostile environment. Should we tour Pak? Should cricket be allowed to be used for personal political goals of these shameless politicians now? Should we leave Mumbai attacks unresolved as another chapter of bilateral ties and is it time already for us to start playing Pak again and touring there? :omg::idunno:
Stuge Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 No ,Never .. I don't my players to be attacked in Pakistan . I don't think Govt will take chance by sending Indian team to Pakistan or even allowing bilateral series with Pakistan .
Prakat Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 I see no reason to tour Pakistan until they rise up in test rankings. The security issue is a big red flag as well, but if Pakistan were in the top 3 rankings, there would still be a case for organizing a tour given that India are allowed to provide for their own security apart from top order protection from the local forces.

Vikas Bhatt Posted April 7, 2011 Author Posted April 7, 2011 I think it is also about our country's outrage about 26/11 as well. I don't want any relations with them till they mend their ways and stop terrorism.
Vikas Bhatt Posted April 7, 2011 Author Posted April 7, 2011 How many times should we forget our injuries and extend a hand of friendship and give them a chance only to be betrayed again?

I don't want any relations with them till they mend their ways and stop terrorism. really ,thats one of the reason why I don't want any such series . they were involved in Delhi blasts etc ,but mumbai 26/11 was like enough is enough. 26/11 changed my perception towards Pakistan altogether.
Ramzz Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Hell no. Let them clean up their act first and then we can talk sports.
NareshK Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Public in India have really short memories and they are so fickle and apathetic. Human life has no value in India because we have a population of a billion plus and nobody cares if a few hundred die. They should have protested when UPA was using the semi final for political reasons and for reaching out to Pak. Pakistan is a proved rogue terror state who are not even serious about bringing the perpetrators of 26/11 to justice. Dont you remember how their politicians gave sarcastic replies to India even when we were just reeling under the attack ? Their country itself thrives on India hate. Till Pakistan is serious and committed about dismantling the terror network in their country and stop cowardly attacks from their soil for the next 10 years, I dont see why India should even consider peace talks. A cricket team tour should be out of the question.
Aaku Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Noway !! Wesey hi dimaaagh hilley honge ab since we the World Champions :icflove:
Asoka Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Not in a 100 years. I fear for the security of our players.
ganeshran Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 No , As much as I am for cricket, touring an unsafe country is simply not on.
achilles Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Vikas, welcome back. Its been ages since you've posted here. I think India should NOT be touring countries having a big heart. We are better off touring any nation on the planet, but them. A country whose captain doesn't respect our countrymen, a country whose sole existence is around hating us and a country where they plan to kill my people is not worthy of being toured. Sorry, we can't have a mighty heart and forgive them all the time.
akshayxyz Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 No way. Shudders to think that once politicians are at it we can't to shyte. :(
qarishahg Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Not at the moment, they should tour india in the meantime
