Sachin=GOD Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Amazon is testing “Kindle Unlimited,” an ebook subscription service for $9.99/month Amazon is testing an ebook subscription service called “Kindle Unlimited” that offers “unlimited access to over 600,000 titles and thousands of audiobooks on any device for just $9.99 a month.” Test pages were pulled down Wednesday after some users on the Kindle Boards noticed them, but they are still available through Google Cache. I really, really, really hope this comes to India also. Would be just awesome.

I know some people who bought the original kindle because it doesn't give reflections in sunlight like ipad does or used to. But many people buy ipad now. Just read the link its the fire phone 170 M loss it seems

Just read the link its the fire phone 170 M loss it seems Yeah.....huge phones and tablets have definitely made a huge dent in kindle sales. But kindle is still THE best device to read ebooks and the basic versions are quite cheap too. Fire phones turned out to be the biggest failure since Microsoft Surface RT tablets.

When i lived in US there were so many libraries and i could borrow all the books i wanted. And i was the opinion that nothing can beat the real book.. I changed my mind soon!! In hyderabad i could'nt find a local library easily and on online the prices are sky high. I went for kindle fire Wrong decision. My eyes became reddish and i had severe headaches for 3 days. So this time i actually researched and found out about kindle paperwhite. The best decision ever for a book lover. i like it better than the REAL BOOK!

Please read the reviews for kindle fire many have complained about glare and eye problems much worse than mine.But there are also many who had no such problems and loved it. So unless u use the kindle fire u will not know if u have any eye issues. The general verdict about kindle fire is that it does cause harm to eyes in the long run even if u don't have any visible eye symptoms now. PaperWhite has some new INK technology so no glare at all. Kindle Fire has more features than paperwhite like video games photo storage and proper internet browsing facilities it also has color. Paper White is plain no color at all even the ads are in black and white. If your purpose is reading only then opt for kindle paperwhite it has no competition it is the best But if u want other features then Kindle Fire. I use Kindle only for reading and nothing else.

I read a few reviews and found they are in line with your observations, Book Worm. If I buy the wifi only model, can it connect via wifi hotspot onto my 3G smartphone? If yes, then really no reason to spend 3K more ( this is only for emergency ) 4. One of my friends was saying that Amazon offers free wifi on Kindle in many places. Is it true for India and if yes, how is the connectivity? 5. Most importantly, how is the book availability compared to say google books? I would need mostly Indian books ( mythology,etc ) and books on finance with some Indian fiction occasionally.

But 3G is not really useful. You can buy books from amazon and they will automatically be sent to kindle when it is connected to WiFi. Also, you can just download books from many sites/torrents (like you download movies etc from torrents) and connect the kindle to laptop/PC via USB cable and transfer the books.

The 212ppi one is perfect for reading. The new one will be a bit sharper but that's it - no other difference. If you are planning to buy the old one now then go for it.......and if you can wait a few weeks/months then I'm sure the price of 300 ppi model will reduce (every few weeks they reduce the price of kindle by around 2000 for 2-3 days - you just have to regularly check for the discount).
