To follow ‘tics ‘Tests Squad’ thread... The IPL ends on May 22nd and Indias first match- the T20 international – in the tour of the W Indies is two weeks later on June 4th. So bearing in mind there are 5 ODIs following that and then a 3 tests series; after which we tour England ( play Somerset 5 days after we end the last test in WI) a total 2nd team must play... Heres mine: Rahane, Mukund, Dhawan, Badrinath ©, Rohit Sharma, Parthiv Patel, Yosuf Pathan, R Ashwin, P Kumar, Nehra, Umesh Yadav Uthappa, S Tiwary, Pankaj Singh, Pragyan Ojha

Ideally we would be playing no limited overs matches and have a warm up match prior to the tests, start the tests a week or so earlier so we have a bit of a break before touring England *sigh*

It's hard to pick a squad rite away. I would definatley look onto the tournament ending to see who performed the best. But these following players should definately be there in the squad Gambhir Sehwag Yuvraj Dhoni Venu Gopal Rao - This guy has done well in 2020 in the past too. But has been sort of unnoticed. Kohli R.P. Singh Ojha Ashwin

I dont know about WI but next trophy we want after Eng series is T20 World trophy. Its in 2014 in SL I have always thought Ambati Raydu was a player in same league as Yuvraj , Gambhir , Kohli, Raina ....an agrresive player with loads of talent. If it was not for his altercation with the MLAs/Yadavs son he would have surely been selected for India. Last IPL and current one has shown his talent and Sachin himself had him picked for Mumbai after Raydus ban due to ICL was lifted. Raydu in place of Murali Vijay atleast in T20 squad for next T20 World title would good idea. The team for T20 World title should be somewhat like this in my opinion . Yusuf /Utthapa ( On form or on rotation basis to keep opposition guessing) Gambhir Raydu / Raina Kohli ( I place kohli here so he can hold innigs together incase of collapse with with Uv/ Dhoni/Bhaji trying to rebuld-accelerate) Yuvraj Dhoni Harbhajan Ashwin or Badrinath for his allround abilities based on pitch conditions Pacer in form 1 Pacer in form 2 The backups can be - Ashok Menaria , Badrinath , Abhishek Nayar/Manoj Tiwari (based on form),Manpreet Gony.

No way should we rest so many players. Only Dhoni, SRT, Sehwag and Zaheer. The others should play.

If we need a second rate team then we should wait till the end of IPL and send a T20 team based on current form. Kohli, YP and Raina has to be constant .. Nehra if fit should be there alongwith PK or Ishant ... and I suppose Dhoni or Gauti would captain and would also need to be there .. if not then UV should captain .. too early to comment on the complete team as of now

I do think a 2nd side against WI without key batsmen will be enough, our own batting will probably be tested against their pacemen (if Taylor/Edwards play in particular) but it will still be close at least
