Should Ganguly go to England for Tests??

Recommended Posts

Dravid has always been scoring runs at a brisk pace since last 7 years...
Absolute rubbish. He is still as slow as he was before. ...and in test cricket, Ganguly has ALWAYS scored at a faster pace than Dravid. ALWAYS. Sure, the averages don't match up but Dravid is by far and away the slowest scorer in the Indian side. My point ? Stop getting carried away by SRs and quit with the anti-Ganguly stance. It's boring. The guy looked better than any other Indian batsman in SA - he proved you "wrong", long ago.

I will pick him as well. If I were to drop some1, I will drop Dhoni and get a specialist batsman in place of him as DK is opening. So that is added value right there. So my team will be Jaffer Karthik Dravid SRT VVS Gangs RP/Dhoni MP Zaheer Kumble SS Trouble here is that none of the last 4 can bat even a bit. So we have to drop the 5th bowler and play Dhoni in place of him. If we are going to play an opposition who have scored 9-10 centuries in the previous series then we have to pick bowlers to get them out. Keep the score down of the opposition that give confidence to the batsmen. If opp scores 500+ doesn't matter whether you have 5 or 6 specialist batsman, they are going to be under tremendous pressure. So we have to bring their avg score from 500 to 350-400. And then manage to score same amount of runs when you bat. Trouble is that we dont have a bowler who can a bat even a bit. Eng has Plunket, Collingwood, and Flintoff who can do both quite good. So they have the edge there. Only if we get extra in-form batsman could make a difference. I think winning 1 test would be a challenge there..
