EnterTheVoid Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Apple's lawsuit is a load of nonsense - Any idiot can tell the difference between Samsung's phones/tablets and Apples' phones/tablets. As for the user interface, Samsung phones runs the Android OS developed by Google! And the UI for every Samsung phone is customisable with different widgets, backgrounds, live wallpapers and so forth. How the hell can this ever be confused with Apple's UI? Apple complaining about the shape of Samsung's tablets is a major piss take - They own the copyright to rectangles now, do they? :finger:

They should sue Google if they are not happy with the way some stupid icons look. The UI on the Samsung phones can in no way be mistaken to the UI of the iOS. Absolutely, no way. Anyone saying otherwise is taking the piss.

Actually, Samsung is like the vendor who sat within Apple observing in stealth their stuff and then copied it. I have already posted a link to an internal Samsung document 132 pages of pure pixel copy. There are also various e-mails which can be found on torrents. One can't just deny that. The other problem is half-knowledge. A lot of people think Apple owns patents for pinch-to-zoom, bounceback etc. NO! You can not own patents on an entity but a method/system to make that entity. So Apple owns a method/system to generate the pinch-to-zoom and bounceback features. Samsung without using their heads - copied which is what they do in other phones too.

Since Samsung is standing in the way of complete domination of tablet/smart phone market? I read the 132 page document and the various emails. Samsung were comparing the strengths/weaknesses of their UI against Apple since they were the leader in the market. Thats not the definition of plagiarism! There needs to be someone to keep Apple in check before the go completely bonkers and monopolise the industry. Samsung is that check!

The only reason is because Samsung Galaxy sales was becoming more than that of iPhones. They cannot compete with them in the marketplace and are hence, looking for shady ways to eliminate competition.
ViruRulez Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 I also hope that Google releases the Nexus 10 tablet too with 3g, 4g and other features. And hope it beats the sheet out of iPad sales. Hopefully the Nexus 7 with limited features will already make some dent into iPad market share. But Google need to release more quality tablets such as Nexus 7 at budget prices to beat the sheet out of Apple's tablet monopoly.

ganeshran Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 No tablet is going to break the ipad monopoly. Android tablets will overtake it in terms of sales but Apple will make more money out of ipad because its owns the entire stack.

But a lot of people install their own and manufacturers are free to customize their own interfaces. HTC used to come with a sense UI which looked completely different to the stock one.
