Rana Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Ten teams are not enough imo. If there is two leagues, a first league were the top teams go against each other and the last two for instance play in the 2nd league, the IPL could become a lot better. Im guessing that many states or cities have not yet been enetered.
hari504504 Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Noone is going to be watching the "2nd div IPL tournament". No point mimicking European football . To make things interesting maybe the last 1-2 teams on the table should be scrapped from the league for the next season (and players' contract voided based on a relegation clause)- thus giving two more cities a chance - the affected players as well as a fresh set of players can be put up for auction , and maybe even allow other clubs to transfer players(and be allowed to bid for the same number of new players in the auctions) to these new clubs if they are interested(they take-up the remainder of the contract)
ViruRulez Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 The Paki is trying to make fun of the IPL by starting this thread. Not sure why posters are replying to his nonsense. Not that I like IPL but I do not see any reason to pay heed to a senseless thread.

Don't you think that apart from the incentive to win.. there should also be a 'punishment' for not doing well. Makes it a lot mroe interesting if there is a fight both at the top and the bottom of the table.

someone Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 I suggest that pakistani players return to the ipl.......laugh laugh. IPL is Not a charity service. Bangladesh themselves were no where in the first 3 IPLs, yet they never complained unlike it.

Mariyam Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Ten teams are not enough imo. If there is two leagues, a first league were the top teams go against each other and the last two for instance play in the 2nd league, the IPL could become a lot better. Im guessing that many states or cities have not yet been enetered. Interesting idea. Here are some quick thoughts. 1) Obsviously due to international commitments, both the IPL 1st and 2nd league will be have to played at the same time. This will result in players being distributed over more teams. That means that the average "star attraction" of each franchise comes down. That means lesser people attracting power and more local talents/average players. 2) Come to think of it, if there was an IPL 1 game between Mumbai Indians and CSK at the same time a game between Ahmadabad Alcoholics and Allahabad Anonymous, even a person from Allahabad would choose watching the former on TV and not the latter in the stadium. Adding a second league would dilute the IPL. Maybe we can add another 2 franchises the next year and see how it goes.
yoda Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 BTW there is already a relegation league for the IPL...It is called the PPL :hahaha:
