vvvslaxman Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Everybody performed below par. Not even the orange cap hunter Kallis didn't bat that well. Morgan sucked. Tiwary, Tendoscate, Gauti did okay. Rest of them sucked in the batting department. T20 has place for bowlers. But not 7 or 8. They should have picked extra batsmen.

Kallis :phehehe: Look at the openers Ganguly had. McCullum Gayle. Compared to both teams CSK is not really a T20 side. Rajasthan Royals was far inferior side on paper compared to KKR in the first edition. They just finished the table at the top and went on to win it.

But Gambhir could have achieved more..A lot of baffling decisions he made cost Kolkata much..

If I have to ask, I can ask a lot of questions..Starting from Gambhir's decision to bat late in the very first match and ending up with giving struggling Goswamy another chance today instead of Bisla or LS. Shukla.. Lot of questions..

Yes he did, even when he didnt win the match his quickfire 25-30 helped the scoring rate. Not Really, I expected it to work, But they should have got a real 'Leader' Team is fine IMO though they need an explosive batsman at the top and some good Indian domestic talent.

But they played better cricket than MI (considering MI sucked badly in the last stage) and BRC throughout the initial round.. They were very consistent along with CSK..But some stupid decisions from Gambhir cost them the way forward.. They should have been playing friday..

McCullum 5. David Hussey 6 Hodge 4. Shane Bond 8. What else you need to win a T20? KKR won just 7 matches. They had a useful all rounder in Matthews. Had magic man Mendis.
