1983-2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Chris Gayle was bought in the middle of the IPL as a replacement for Dirk Nannes, so this means that he was only replaced for this season. What will happen to him in IPL 5. surely he can't play for RCB as he was not picked in the auction but only came in as a replacement. He should be put in the auction for IPL 5 instead of Allowing RCB to just retain him or release Dirk Nannes. But Mallya will use all his influence to retain him for IPL 5. I hope other 9 teams raise this Issue to BCCI. IPL 5 auction will be held probably couple of months before IPL to sign players who are not already contacted to IPL teams for 3 years and the spending money will be very less compared to the big auction.
flamy Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 lol bambi want gayle now? u like that gayle feeling? :winky:
ganeshran Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 He will fail in IPL 5. His slide will start tomorrow
cowboysfan Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 what exactly is the situation with gayle in the next season? we are toast without him.
1983-2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Author Posted May 27, 2011 lol bambi want gayle now? u like that gayle feeling? :winky: Surely Mallya should follow the rules and IPL comittie should be consistent in dealing with players contracts.
bulbul Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 what exactly is the situation with gayle in the next season? we are toast without him. Don't worry Mallya will make sure Nanness will injured permamnently..any way he is 36... So we can lose him B->
jibranpatel15 Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 forget season 5 guys FINALE is still remaining concentrate there 1st. Gayle B->
1983-2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Author Posted May 27, 2011 It doesn't matter if Nannes is injured, Gayle has to be put in the auction because he was only signed as a replacement for this year. RCB can pay as much asthey want in the auction if they seriously want him in IPL 5. Gayle was only allowed to be signed by RCB because he was not picked in the auction. It's like Ganguly, Pune cannot retain him for next year because he was signed as a replacement for Nehra. If Pune wants Ganguly in IPL 5 then they should buy him in the IPL 5 auction.
ganeshran Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 What if Gayle opts out of the auction citing unavailability and is picked back again as an injury replacement?
1983-2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Author Posted May 27, 2011 What if Gayle opts out of the auction citing unavailability and is picked back again as an injury replacement? Then he shouldn't be allowed to play at all. Replacement for injured players can only be players from leftovers from the auction list.
Params7 Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Seriously this auctioning bull crap needs to stop. There can be no mass dedicated fan following the likes which NBA and soccer clubs do if there are no sportspeople fans can connect with in their teams. Gayle should be Rcb until rcb want to sell him. If a bangalore fan sees gayle playing against them next year it would suck, he's their hero now.
ensd2 Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Its Dr Mallaya , I think he will not be auctionned , unless MI paid more bribes to board members...
Stuge Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Ghar banna nahin kharridar pehlee hai aagaye:orderorder::orderorder::headshake::headshake:
Rusty Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Mallya will do everything in his power to keep gayle. Just look at today's match. RCB was supposed to coast to 200+ total but it didn't happened once he got out.
rajmarie Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 Well...I do hope gayle plays for RCB. Some sort of continuance is needed otherwise ipl rating will further flop.....keep in mind that this year Ind is playing Eng home & away and also going to Aus. That's a lot of high quality cricket that Ipl has to deal with.
yoda Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 All they have to do is pass an "amendment" to ensure he stays with RCB. :winky:
achilles Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 But Mumbai has the AWESOMEST striker in the history of the game, that mighty beast who goes by the name - Keiron Pollard. Why would they like to degrade themselves by taking Gayle and sidelining the greatest T20 player in history? Bollocks.
