It seems that his exploits with the ball and the bat are summarized by that one hattrick against us. Ever since he has achieved nothing of note, contributed nothing of note and is the same trundler that most batsmen love to see on the otherside of the 22 yard strip between overs 40 and 50. and yes, he is unable to score any decent number of runs himself either. when the sri lankans take the field, they are already fielding 4 bowlers, and 6 batsmen counting the wicketkeeper. why is this jerk taking up a spot?

Where are Chanaka Welegedera, Thilan Tushara, and one other quick bowler I am forgetting the name who took 5-fer against US in 2008 final test. Don't why Mahroof and Parera is playing this test. They are playing an ODI team in tests. Randiv should played ahead of Mendis as well.

No matter who the Lankans play, they will find it tough to bowl out decent batting team. They only had two match winners - Murali and Malinga. With Murali retired and Malinga no longer playing Tests they will find it difficult even to win at home.

@ug the bowlers o mentined are still better bowlers than these trundlers and can use the conditons better..Though cardiff is a draw pitch...Very slow and low bounce

They didn't have a quick replacement, as Nuwan Pradeep and Dilhara got injured just before the test match. Maharoof was already there playing county cricket. And he is playing as the fifth bowler, just replacing a specialist batsman from a normal SL lineup. Anyway you can't expect too much from him when the regular bowlers also failed. But Welagedara should have played for Lakmal or Perera. Stupid team selection.

Kulashekara would have been asset in english conditions. But this pitch is dead pitch, so anyways everyone has struggled.

Some idiotic selections going on here. Perera and Maharoof are at best good for ODI's where you would value all rounder. Why would you leave out Welegedera who seems to eb a decent bowler and also did well in the practice matches.
