Suresh Raina's Captaincy watch!

can't really read into a one-off t20 performance, but seems to be less instinctive and risk taking than dhoni's blueprint, i.e. trusting the 5 main bowlers with no intention to mix it around with other part-timers. Though again he was never under pressure as India seemed always on top in the field. On another note is this the best fielding side India have put out for ages re: Raina, Kohli, Badri, Sharma, Dhawan ideal fielders to have inside the circle.

Good start but cannot judge so early. As of now, he and Kohli looks more sensible than the other captaincy backup we have. Infact, he looks better than even Kohli and is a cool customer (maybe due to Dhoni and CSK effect) .. but he surely has potential to be a good captain .. if he was not in CSK then he might have been a good captain of another IPL team as he has a steady and cool head

What about finishing all his main 4 bowlers before the last over?.. He did some wrong calcuation in that case' date=' right?..[/quote'] Huge mistake. If WI were only chasing 8-10 in the final over and we had our #5 bowler Pathan for the 20th we would have certainly lost. He needs to take a page from Dhoni and his agressive captaincy style. Perhaps should have given an over to Rohit, himself or maybe opened with Ashwin and the new ball.

has been good so far. Played a calm knock yesterday. seems to have found his place in the team as a finisher. made all the right moves in the field - looks much better than last time

^ To be fair, last time he was saddled with a completely inexperienced attack - Umesh Yadav, Dinda, Pankaj Singh, Vinay Kumar etc. Most captains would have struggled with that sort of bowling. Now he has Munaf, Praveen and Bhajji so plenty of experience there
