You would have thought with all his experience he would have worked on his ability to score/play off short-pitched deliveries, as Plan A for all opposition bowlers to Indian batsmen is always "pitch'em in short".

Even these last couple of ODIs were a great opportunity. But he keeps failing even against the no.8 team on slow pitches, simply out of his depth at international level.

Very true. Prior to the series he said he had learned from his failures against SA and was much better prepared for international cricket this time, but there has been no evidence to back up his words.

This thread should expire in few days. Four ODIs completed,still Badri never played well. He has last chance in last ODI. One performance never keep a safe spot. But in 4th ODI Rohit scored 39,India still lost the match because of poor performance from lower middle order batsmen Raina and Yousuf. How ever Badri's wicket forced India under pressure. So his doors are now almost closed.

I would like to see Dhawan brought in place of Badri for the last match - it's only fair to Dhawan and Tiwary. Dhawan at least managed one 50 in the 3 games he played whereas Badri hasn't done anything in the 4 games he played. Plus playing Dhawan will allow Tiwary to play in his natural spot - at 4 or 5 in the middle order. It's unfair to Tiwary that he is asked to open coz Badri is selected everytime and hasn't done squat.

No point asking Yusuf to open. Let Dhawan or Badrinath open the batting as they are the specialsit batsmen whereas Yusuf is a late order batting all-rounder similar to a Pollard. If Badri doesn't want to open let Dhawan open or Yusuf should be dropped to have both Dhawan and Badrinath in the team.

Squad is good if Praveen Kumar will Open the innings with Parthiv Patel. That will be interesting to see, and SAHA will have to include because we don't have 5-0 chance, already won the series. Now need to make experiments in last ODI. if India loss the match, no problem because we already won the series.
