nikred Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 I won't name the place where I stay but it was new apartments when I moved in a year back. The owner never had any issues with either of my roomies. But suddenly now the so called society decided to kick all the bachelors out of the apartments. I liked the place and it has been good for me. The owner says he is helpless and I don't seem to have much of a choice but to leave. But it makes me wonder, is it legal to kick out tenants just because they are single? Maybe someone like Mariyam could point out the renting laws and stuff.
nikred Posted June 4, 2011 Author Posted June 4, 2011 Do you have a written contract? Its going to expire this month. oh cr@p I don't like where this is going. :((

ravishingravi Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Its going to expire this month. oh cr@p I don't like where this is going. :(( Then there is no question of being bachelor or not ?
EnterTheVoid Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Your question doesn't make sense. You're getting evicted because you are a bachelor? Obviously there is more to this than they're telling you.
Zelig Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Get married :wizard: And stop hitting on fella ICFers in the name of "getting legal advice" :beee:
nikred Posted June 4, 2011 Author Posted June 4, 2011 Find a new flat. /story. I as a tenant obviously do not stand a chance. But I was asking from the Owner's point of view. I know my owner wont go through all the legality to have me stay back. He will take the easy way out and ask me to leave.:P My question was is it legal to have such rules? The society is basically forcing the owners to go only for certain kinds of tenants.

In any cases, there are many such practises happening. Allotment of flat to muslims or those who eat non veg or from a different caste or "promiscuous" bachelors
nikred Posted June 4, 2011 Author Posted June 4, 2011 Your question doesn't make sense. You're getting evicted because you are a bachelor? Obviously there is more to this than they're telling you. Well apparently, some "bachelors" were playing loud music and disturbing their neighbors. Many complained about it. So they decided to kick all the evil bachelors out. :((
EnterTheVoid Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Eviction based on the grounds of public nuisance is a legitimate reason.
EnterTheVoid Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 So the bachelors were given the boot not because they were bachelors but because they were a nuisance to other neighbors? Sorry for you but your neighbors are well within their rights.
Stuge Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Eviction based on the grounds of public nuisance is a legitimate reason. he said some bachelors that doesn't mean you throw all the bachelors .Only the ones who created nuisance need to be tackled .
Aaku Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Society ki aati jaati kuwariyon pe linein maaroge tou yahi hoga :dontknow:
nikred Posted June 4, 2011 Author Posted June 4, 2011 Eviction based on the grounds of public nuisance is a legitimate reason. Then evict the guys creating nuisance not every goddamn bachelor. It's like that Bangalore pubs banning the Africans.
