ganeshran Posted June 10, 2011 Author Posted June 10, 2011 who is talking about tests here. This is about ODIs
ganeshran Posted June 10, 2011 Author Posted June 10, 2011 Ithink Ashwin should get a chance but the hatred people are displaying for Harbhjan is borderline pathalogical. He is a team person and had always performed well. He probably is the best spinner out there. Hatred? Where is the pathological hatred for Harbhajan on this thread.
King Tendulkar Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 who is talking about tests here. This is about ODIs 1st odi he out bolwed mishra, took 3 wickets and Mishra got zero(an oppportunist should have started a thread slamming mishra then). Also Bhaji had best e.rate in wc for indian bowler. Played crucial role, was dhonis go to bowler when runs are flowing as he stops the flow, thats his role , although so called fans still have not realised this after years of watching him. Instead they blurt out the his role is wicket taker nonsense. Someone tell this to team india who tactically use him in a totally different role and do so with massive success

King Tendulkar Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 ^ Well mishra should have been axed after 1st. Then Bhaji axed after 2nd. Then in 3rd whoever gets least wickets is axed and is replaced by bhaji again. We should do same for batters. Kohli should have been axed after 1st odi as he failed. Then in last odi Dhawan has to go as he failed. Sehwag should be axed as he failed in his last match as well. Whoever gets least runs in next match has to go, as well as player with least wickets.

What I meant was that every bowler ha off days but in Bhajji's case he has been having too many off days this summer. And the economy rate is not what you want from your attacking spinner. I would love to see if Bhajji picks up a couple of wickets even after going for 60 runs, rather than a 0/50. What he does is after getting belted for a six, bowls a flatter ball and darts it so that the batsman doesn't get underneath the ball and tonk him again. but what he should do is, toss it up again and entice him for another false stroke. He gets most of his wickets as a result of batsman failing rather than him earning (Out hitting one in the deep on a full toss or attempting a reverse paddle and trying to be a lil too cheeky and missing a straighter one), I hope you are getting my point.
King Tendulkar Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 So in world cup he was our most economical spinner. In 1st odi he took 3 wickets and bowled very well, if parthiv was not so hopeless would have had 5. In 2nd odi bowls ok and now he must be axed after just one so called percieved bad performance in just one match. So no dont see your point. Fickle or blind hate! not sure which one here
asterix Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 I'll put it in a different way.. Let's assume he is a senior spinner/player in the team. He should be assured of his place hence he should've taken a break from this ODI series..This series should've been used to try out the additional upcoming spinners we have..Bhajji is not required in this ODi series..Ashwin & Mishra could've easily got the job done.. Bhajji should've got a well earned break and could've joined the Test team..

Fickle or blind hate! not sure which one here Nope I never said axe him. Tell me when did I say that ? My point is, Bhajji is not our premier spinner in ODIs anymore. In Tests, may be yes but certainly not in ODIs. You say he is very economical, but whats the point ? We want wickets from him and not just containing batsman. His strike rate in the World Cup was an epic 58 which means 1 wicket in one game after bowling 10 overs which is very bad for a premier spinner. So in my opinion on the current form, Harbhajan should not be guaranteed a spot in ODIs.
Guest Gunner Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 :hysterical::hysterical:Still bitter from being owned in politics section by me. Let it go kid! I know you think mandela and ghandhi did nothing for their countries but cos I outed that dumbness dont get bitter. Bhaji has been superb for India with 350 plus test wickets and yet gets treated like this, very sad. Also played crucial part in our wc win. Had best economy rate of all our bowlers in the tournament. O how the masses forget, the masses can be so fickle.:(( Listen dude, I have showed a vast amount of courtesy and politeness to you. So let me repeat this again, this is cricket talk and keep your discussions related to that. If you want to talk politics , go back and post there. So calm the **** down.
Guest Gunner Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Werent you one of thos calling for his head when he went through a bad patch. The masses are so fickle I mean look at this joke thread you have started against The man of the last world cup tourament http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showthread.php?t=267146 Bit here you hail him as emotional leader. Masses are so fickle WE toured SA and bhaji was superb. He was superb in WC as had best econmoy rate. Really silly how mob is after him after one match were he actually bowled ok and hit the winning runs. The mob is so hateful Can the mob please read these stats. Overseas against second best tesam in the world and Bhaji delivers(please note 350 plus test wickets and ranked in top 10 bowlers in the world). But yes Ashwin did very well in IPL! Also I love the way everyone is launching in to bhaji after the second odi i.e 1 match. BUT in 1st odi bhaji out bolwed mishra as he took 3 wickets to mishras zero! The maases are so opportunistic! Whom are you calling the mob? As far as I can see you are the mob. :haha::haha::haha:

Are you aware of the JJJ factor?
asterix Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 You don't have to look at facts and figure. If you watch him bowling, it makes, even amature, district level off-spinners like me cringe..Whtateve might've been the compulsions, I'll never bowl the way he bowls..Legside darts and bowling legside 5 wides on a regular basis..
VRV Singh Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 People are getting way over defensive over Bhajan anyways. No player should play every match should they? Aside from form, given we have picked two other spinners in a largely experimental squad then what is the harm in giving them games? Ashwin and Mishra have played 21 ODIs between them...Bhajji has played fricking 228! It is as wrong to paint Bhajji as the devil as it is to present Ashwin as the messiah, but I don't see why anyone should have a problem with some change within a series.
CSK Fan Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Also I love the way everyone is launching in to bhaji after the second odi i.e 1 match. BUT in 1st odi bhaji out bolwed mishra as he took 3 wickets to mishras zero! The maases are so opportunistic! yes becuase its really fair to compare a seasoned veteran to people who havent played more than a handful of matches. Bhajji supporters always come out with such gems. Surely Mishra should get more chances to prove himslef in such an inconsequtional series?
vvvslaxman Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 world cup spinners performance in Indian conditions (excluding SL and Bangladesh as they helped spinners more).
desi pride 1234 Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 i wont pick bajji unless or untill he turns the ball off the pitch which is lacking in bajji's arsenal.
Cricket Tragic Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 i wont pick bajji unless or untill he turns the ball off the pitch which is lacking in bajji's arsenal. That is like Swann who wanted all spinners who don't turn the ball to be banned. :nervous:
