He is saying when Kohli's chance comes to play test cricket.
He hasnt even made his debut yet and you guys are debating his battin position? He hasn’t even made his debut yet and you guys are arguing about his batting order? Btw, Virat is still 2, probably 3 years from a test spot. Viru and Gautam aren’t going anytime soon. Sachin is good to go for another 2 years, same with VVS. The only other vacancy could be the one created by Dravid’s retirement. And it is pretty clear Pujara is the anointed successor.

CT says Pujara's fitness is still not clear. If Pujara isnt fit, there is a good chance that Kohli could take place.

I agree with the OP. Rohit has million dollar talent with a ten cent brain which averages to half a million so the fatboy should obviously play.

I think we are wasting time discussing Kohli. Rohit is miles ahead of him and should get the no.6 spot is tests.

I think Rohit has a better case to make the opening spot. His tendency to tee-off first ball would suit him there. And considering Tendulkar and Sehwag to be selectively picked from now on, and most likely scenario that Tendulkar and Sehwag won't be opening for India at the 2015. Rohit's ability to play the short ball and naturally aggressive approach makes him a better candidate then Vijay or Dhawan. Rohit replacing Yuvi in near term is unlikely, because of Yuvi's effective all-rounder ability and also probably less important but significant, after the WC Yuvi's marketing appeal is even bigger for BCCI and sponsors.

You really think either Kohli or Pujara are in any way better than Rohit??? Cmon man Rohit has far more strokes in his repertoire and is technically superior. I am sure he will hook and pull the English fast bowlers to bits, whilst the aforementioned duo will cower in cowardice.

+1 Could not have said it better. His natural talent will come through against the hard new moving ball.

Why no 6, his talent will be wasted there. I say we open with him. Vijay is not exactly setting test cricket alight

I just might agree with you on this one. So what do you suggest' date=' drop viru?[/quote'] Well not drop Viru, but with Viru's shoulder injury, and planning for World Cup 2015, Rohit should be the first choice back-up. Rohit will just need to be patient and perform when called upon. Unfortunately, he should have been opening in this WI tour. It's is ridiculous to open with two left handers, when Rohit would have been ideal. And still think the management commited a faux pas with Patel and Dhawan. Would have gone with Patel and Rohit.

Frankly Rohit will go on to better Virus record at the top, he has a vastly superior defensive technique and is better against swing and bounce. The best hooker in India. Period.

One word- Gunner's gone mental like Arsene ****** ! :hysterical:
Brah, we have to move on from the past. Yuvi was our past glory and Rohit is the future.

Rohit is a wave surfer.. if things are going right with him he'll perform.. but he is totally not capable of battling out a bad situation. and how many ODI's has the OP seen Yuvi play AFTER the world cup to say that he is past his prime?? urgh! Not to mention Yuvi can be quite handy with the ball too. I never liked Rohit Sharma back from the days when he used to have that cry-baby look on his face and played timidly. NO thanks.. but I'll take Yuvi any day over Rohit Sharma. Rohit MAY have a berth in the Indian team.. but no way is that gonna come at the expense of Yuvi.
