Many have left, many more have been killed, and others have converted to survive. Hindus are allowed to vote only in seperate electorates and are not allowed to register marriages. Thats right a Hindu marriage is not legal in pakistan as it it is not allowed to be registerd. This has meant even more problems as without a marriage registartion certificate you are not entitled to a Compterised National Identity Card, which in turn denies them the right to vote. Of the 428 temples in the country, only 26 are functioning. Also the Shamshan Ghat in Rawalpindi used by sikhs and hindus to perform last rites, was demolished on July 19 2010. How would muslims feel if their mosques were demolished to build homes?

I was curious about the number of Hindus in Pakistan immediately after partition and now and spent a considerable amount of time digging up old research papers to find out the answer. How does correcting the numbers given in OP imply I am defending Pakistan's treatment of minorities or Hindus?

It was a general comment.. :dontknow: I was happy they far less Hindus were targetted as it's being projected.

Okay, I misunderstood - thought you were saying that by giving a smaller number I was implying Hindus are treated well.

Javier Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 Its just a process that normally goes on in Muslim countries where the Non-Muslim population goes on decreasing with each passing year , whereas in Non-Muslim Countries the Mullah population tends to grow at a rapid pace . All this has to do with the book that they follow , persecute the kaffirs in your lands and breed like rats in Kafir Lands in order to form a significant majority someday so that demands of Muslim states like Pakistan , Kashmir , Chechnya can be put forward and kaffir lands fall under the flag of Islam.
