How about we just throw out the Pakis, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and West Indies from international cricket and replace them with India B, India C, India D and India E. It would at last give us 9 genuine top class international teams! :giggle:

Second XI has just lost two ODIs in a row to the no.8 team in the world. Heaven knows what a better side would to to a team containing Badrinath, Dhawan, Tiwary, Vinay Kumar etc.

For all the doom and gloom, we lost because we took the pedal off the gas after having won the series. We have an awful record in dead rubbers anyway. And the point of having a second team is not to see them thrash everyone but to be competitive against the weaker teams. If they had won the series 3-2 against WI with mainly new players, its a good sign for Indian cricket EVEN if the two losses weren't dead rubbers. Rankings will surely take a hit although I'm not sure how much people care about ODI rankings.

In odis rankings don't mean much and I would rather have a world cup than the no. 1 ranking. However I would hate it if we don't win the Test series and end up losing our no. 1 Test ranking.

ODI ranking is not important. We should aim to retain the test ranking. Winning the series in England, Australia and then the Test Championship is the priority. Home test series are not a problem. 2 series lost in 14 years.

Looks like people are getting the idea I thought today, i will be whipped.... We are at border.. But the only way we can improve is making two teams. Getting beaten or may be we will loose some series too... But despite all that, Four five years down the line, we will end up with two really strong teams....
