Cricketics Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 Tomic beats Soderling in straight sets Till date, biggest victory for him I believe to win at Wimbledon that too beating a top class player. Still remember him getting a wildcard in Aussie open 2010 and winning his first few matches. Great change in his game. Improving massively.
Cricketics Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 Just first set. He isn't realy struggling. It's a better opposition and plus, they have both looked equal so far. Rafa hasn't played his A game yet I guess, you can say, else this might not have gone to tie break.
SachDan Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 Tics, I meant he was struggling with his ankle injury..twisted his ankle while going for a forehand winner..already took the allotted three minute time break..he will be forced to retire if the same injury gets any worse :( Takes the first set 7-6..great opportunity spoiled by Del Potro!
Cricketics Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 I saw him slipping in last game too. Din't watch that the last set against Muller, but he did slip once, but seems to had "no reaction" when he slipped. Don't know if it was that time when he got this injury.
SachDan Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 Yeah..that was the first time he hurt his ankle here, and today's twist seems to have worsened it further :( hope he closes out this match in straight sets
SachDan Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 Mardy Fish beats last year's finalist Berdych in straight sets, enters QF's!
akshayxyz Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 Potro might cause an upset here. So far pretty hard fought match.
Cricketics Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 3rd set tie break. Great to see Potro fighting.. Let's go JUAN MARTIN.
SachDan Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 Another win for Rafa in a tie-breaker..wins 3rd set 7-6 :yay::yay: C'mon King Rafa :cheer:
akshayxyz Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 meanwhile good comeback from Federer after losing first set. Almost there.
SachDan Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 Rafa breaks Del Porto for the first time in the match! Leads 3-2, 4th set
SachDan Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 Like FO, first four seeds well on their way to semis.
Sooda Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 Rafa- Del Po must have been the match of the tourno thus far. Was really rooting for JMDP, fantastic to see him nearing full form. Will be a major force in the hard court season.
