Whats The Plan India?????

IS there one?? Are we trying to get some sort of lead? Are we going to declare at some point? Are we just meandering into pointlessness Why even bother playing?? Why not all go home for Rum and Samosa. Gunner- India is batting as if they are trying to save a match against marshall and ambrose Indeed. Yawn.

I say let's up the rate and give them a target of around 280 on the last day. The pitch is not easy to bat at all and fast scoring is next to impossible. Let's go for the win as I sure can't see WI chase this total on the last day.

India have always been content with draws and remain to be. They can see its not easy to score, flash for some lucky runs and look to bowl them out. Maybe they know its raining 2moro, so why bother

We need time to bowl them out. So attempting to be a bit more positive at least after Virat settled would have been a reasonable thing to do. Use as few overs as possible tomorrow. They could have even got up to 260ish -at a push - and declared with a few awkward overs to go tonight. I think they aim to kill WI with boredom.

Harsh on Kohli. What was Dravid doing? 50 off 170 balls.
I wouldn't blame either. Dravid came in when we could have lost the game, and Kohli is batting to save his Test career. Laxman should try to be a bit more aggressive as he's the only player who can score quickly on this pitch IMO.

Yes he was turteltastic. However we expect that from him and he came in at a potentially tricky time and laid a foundation. Once that was laid someone should have at least tried to score some runs. Im not suggesting Kohli go beserk- just try to score runs. When he hit that six I thought 'great!'...sadly however...

Anyway, he could have pushed on after scoring 20 odd runs. A s/r of 45-50 is not asking for too much, is it?

India are doing exactly what they need to do. 280 won't be chased. Another 10 overs tomorrow and they can achieve that and then give Windies 60-70 overs to survive. And well done to Kohli, I'm glad he's learned from the example of Dravid/Lax that you have to get in and survive first, then play your shots.

Disappointed with the way they played this last session. I was hoping they'd be aggressive, seeing we've Dhoni,Raina and Bhajji to come with 7 wickets in Hand. :(( But still on a 5th day wicket, I think 50 overs are enough to fold up WI (weather permit).

Frankly 250 would not be chased either and that much could have been scored today- although that would have been risky. Even a lead of 280 would have been possible to get had they went for it a bit today. I dont think 60 overs is enough for us to bowl em out. If Sarwan/ Samuels/ Chanders decide to dig in, even Barath...

Yeah, with Bhajji in a slump and Mithun we really only have two bowlers in Praveen/Ishant. No way we should declare less than 280+.

I say we have enough already...put the Windies in first thing tomorrow morning. Extraordinary display of ineptitude. Should have been slogging for the last 10 overs today with 7 wickets in hand.

Clearly a plan to see the day out at a steady pace, safety first and all that. There was a long period with Sammy and Bishoo in tandem though, I thought they were there to be milked. Certainly more conservative against them than I imagined. Still 240 lead with security and tempo batsmen to come is healthy. Plan isn't the most ambitious though.

Yeah, because that's how we got to being number 1. By slogging in the last session of play. Well done, you get the idiot of the day award.
