Although I think they might take a call on Sree/PK for lords, but I think Sree will be given preference based on his performances in SA.
DeepFineLeg Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 Mukund looks much more free flowing in England compared to Windies. Perhaps it was the flat wicket at Taunton and this judgement is premature. Nonetheless, the guy will be starting for the first test, i am sure. Given the mauling Mishra and Sree got in Taunton, I am wary of both in playing 11 and would stick to Zak, Ishant, PK and Harby. Raina has made his selection automatic. And thats the playing 11.

No point playing him like we did in the WC final (an example to show how poorly we handle him), where he was more concerned about so many things rather than going all out for wkts .... Sree is not there to bowl a line and length that stops the flow of runs (we have others guys doing that) but he is there to pick up wkts. if he is playing he should be encouraged to go all out for it and since this is test, I hope Dhoni lets him loose a little .... Hoping Sree to swing, reverse, hit the batsmen and generate some pace

He also doesnt have a lot of experience at the international level. What about Munaf ? Will they give him a go ? The rest of the side pick themselves. Of course you cant see. As you didnt see him constantly troubling and taking the wicket of a batsman of the caliber of Ponting in the CB series in Australia with the same military medium pace

Though ishant might start but still a okay time against WI shouldnt mean that you become a first choice.. And im usually right with bowling line ups too. When i joined the forum before the wc semi final i said that munaf will be the most threatening aand everyone laughed then too

Maybe fly in bowlers like Aaron and try our luck b/c the current bowling options are dim. I am sure that the inclusion of the seniors including Laxman and Sehwag(from 3rd test) will do us good.

Rest of the side was pretty much picked regardless of what happened vs Somerset. Maybe a stunning Yuvraj ton would have got him no 6 spot, but Raina was always the fave

Whether he should have any chance at all is another debate.
