Guest Gunner
^^ Monisha, isn't Bombil called Pomphret in English? Bombay Duck is Rawas, I think. I could be wrong though. The thing is that everyone uses the Marathi names for seafood, as all the fisherfolk ( koli) are Maharashtrian. The best pomfret is manglorean. Absolutely kickass. The cuisine in mangalore and south canara is really something else. They also make an anchovies fried dish, brilliant stuff.

Yoda-esque
I did. But nowhere close to the real king of mangoes. :king: I have tasted both and liked the Devgad Haapus/Alphonso more. I guess its a matter of getting used to the taste. Am sure people who have lived in the North will say Langda or Dussehri.
