Why we lost the first test? - not able to bowl Eng out for around 350 in the first inning - did not get 350 in the 1st inning - could not restrict Eng to 200 in the 2nd inning, after having them 5 down for nothing - didn't bat well in the 4th inning I thought we did pretty well to get rid of the eng openers in the first inning. But there was no support or follow up to zak's effort. The 1st ball was wasted. Batting was poor apart from Dravid. Ishant bowled a game changing spell but once again no support from other end. Failed to bat decently in the 4th innings Most imp the decision to not play likes of Sree backfired as the replacements came up with avg performance. That's what is bad about Ind in general, I.e. Respect for Mediocre players who could give in a reasonable performance over potential game changers, who could be hot or cold but could win you the games.

It's written in the post itself, if you care to relate things .... On top of that, you should realize that a loss is the worst result possible. Unless you think by playing Sree, Ind would have achieved an even worse result than a loss, you should be able to put 2 and 2 together Also, if you plan to bowl first, common sense suggests that you pick your wkt taking bowlers. Lastly, Sree ----> quick, swing, reverse, awkward bounce PK ----> swing Munaf ----> ? Bhajji ----> Darts if you pick bowlers, who can do just one thing over those who can do more, you miss out in tests. This is not ODIs, where you bowl 4-6 overs with the new ball and half of your overs are gone already and you have almost done your job.
