I was hoping to fly to London from NY for Lord's. Glad I didn't. We get pi**ed when some Indian muslims support Pak in Ind v. Pak. Why double standards? I'm with wobbly, English-born Indians should support their home country.

Because Pakistan is anti India. And Pakistan is not the home of Indian Muslims.... We dont support France or Gemany or Zimbabwe... If some Bengali supported Bangladesh you wouldnt find the same reaction. (Mohun bagan and East Bengal, Mohammedan Sporting in football is example to that)

That's a whole other ball game because they are still Indians by birth, heritage, and citizenship, regardless of their religious inclinations, so it irks people when a person puts religion ahead of the country. This isn't the case with UK-born Indians who support India, because as a whole they resonate strongly with their heritage and culture despite being born there, not religion. I don't see why that's such a huge deal to people considering even in a country as diverse and cosmopolitan like the USA, communities like the Italians and Mexicans, etc. have their own little sub-cultures while still largely regarding themselves as Americans.

I am expressing my views not theirs. I would take my kids to see both sides and encourage them to support their heritage and their home. Their heart would come in when the sides played each other. I do not think that happens here

LOL. This is exactly what happens with British Indians as well, they support the UK in everything else. The heart comes in only when India play England. I wish you would take off your blinkers and look at the situation again correctly.

If we emigrated to India, I would encourage them to support India as it is their home if they are born there. I would stay with England the place of my birth. I do not feel that is the case with immigrants in the UK

You are confusing yourself between British Indians and British Pakistani. MY ex-boss was British Indian and I can guarantee you that he is more English than the English (public schools, oxbridge the works). He was not just my boss, but also the global leader for the industry sector in which I was working based out of the UK. Now if that is not integration and success, I don't know what is. This is not even an isolated example, I know so many British Indians like him who are all very very successful and have an awesome life in London.

Interesting!! so is it wrong that if given a choice my son would rather play for India than play for England baring in mind he was born in England, plays for for a very English team probably will go on to play county cricket but still takes is inspiration from our boys in blue!

I wasnt even born in Aus and still support the Aussies in all other sports except cricket. Even in cricket I dont support them only when they play India. If I stay here for long enough then Im sure my kids would be supporting Australia n thats the way it should be.
