I didn't read your first post...my bad...let's be cool again  I also read a lot about these tablets and the smart phones. Why? I am in the market for both. It's actually being said that there will be even more apps on the touchpad now since millions of people have bought it through this fire sale. There is a good chance that people will work on new apps and not only that, there is talks about installing android on it. It's going to be a hacker's paradise and I love that.
I don't think there will be millions... only 250000 to 300000 shipped earlier..out of which only 25k sold... whether HP manufactured afterwards I don't know... as I wrote below HP wrote of $100 million for Touch pad..I doubt whether they manufactured millions. and who will develop apps for a OS which is going to be disbanded

DomainK, don't go for the ipad...do your self a favor (assuming you haven't bought it already) It's a black hole, everything costs extra and no flash plus a lot of websites are opened as "mobile version" and are not reversible to full websites. I know I am ranting about the "mobile websites" all over again but it annoys the sh!t outta me. If you are trying to spend 500 odd bucks, look at the galaxy 10.0 and the xoom.
Thanks for the tip. I was a bit worried about that. Also, I am a little more interested in Android. Which is the best android based tablet?

ok "mr. knowitall act". Please show me some apps that costs more on itunes vis-a-vis Android. Second, he is looking at buying an Ipad, not an Ipod. Sites are opened in the mobile version in the smaller ipod, not the bigger ipad. Please use one, and then talk. Could you give me a few examples of sites that open in the mobile version in the ipad? The galaxy tab 10.1 is good, but it has no apps. And its not available here. Xoom is a POS. I agree about the flash part, but all major sites use x.264 for the idevices.

Which is the best android based tablet?[/quote'] Both those points that you have highlighted are wrong/lies. Android is fantastic for phones, but for phones, not tablets. Honeycomb doesnt have any apps at all. In the current market scenario, its much more sensible to buy a ipad 2. (Unless you can get the limited 99$ HP touchpad) Best Android tablet is the galaxy tab 10.1 (version 2)

Thanks holy. If there are enough free apps and no more hidden costs, I think I will go for the ipad.

you research yourself well before buying..as Holy told It's the best Tablet available now... some points u may already aware... 1. No flash but not big deal...there is a separate app for You tube any way.. 2.No External connections....USB/External Hard disk..everything must be done thru ITunes (installed in PC)....they are relasing Icloud infer months..then you can upload to cloud and use in any apple devices.. 3.Bluetooth avialble..But not for data transfer - keyboard, speaker etc only 4.Camera not great..if u don't want 512 RAM can go for IPad 1

They are most probably resistive screen (need to use finger nails as the technology doesn't respond to light fingertip touch) and may not be multi-touch either.

:giggle: Ipad was a stretched version of Ipod touch to begin with. Try visiting some Ipad forums and you will see the rants. The android market is growing by the day and although there are few apps they will serve for majority of your needs. With four major companies diving in with the android OS...there is no reason to count it out. I am not against the Ipad...in fact they deserve all the credit for this tablet revolution b/c they are the pioneers. but there are slightly better products available now. Flash is a major issue now a days. You have to realize that a lot of websites run at least one flash image/vid. Go to news websites and you can't watch the videos...for example. Give me flash + ipad and I am all for it.

you are again mistaking Phones with Tablets..android market is No1 in Phones we all agree.. but Tablets market they are still struggling... most of the Share android have in tablet market is mainly from cheaper Chinese knock offs of IPad.... also Now google bought Motorola mobility other major phone/tablet makers have to think about depending completely on Android.. by the way the stretched IPod sold more than 25. million in less than 2 years

There is nothing wrong with that.

If you really think the ipad is a stretched version of the ipod, I have nothing to say to you except that you should use it once. I used to feel the same, then I used one. (and then i bought one). Android is fantastic for the phone, but not for tablets. Honeycomb has a lot of issues, and no apps. Nobody is counting out Android, but its not there yet.. for the tablet market atleast. As for the go to the news website and you cant watch the videos.. wtf are you on about dawg.. Please go to the nearest apple store.. get on an ipad, go to cnn/bbc/or any other news site you want to and try playing a video. It will play. Because like I said earlier, most sites have different versions for the idevices. So with the ipad, you will get the full pc website (not the mobile version), AND the vids will play. I dont understand why you would want to write ****/lies about a product you clearly havent used.
