I don't know why exactly, but I'm :mad: every time I see him on screen. Ah you can not be that selective. Dare I remind you that the late 80s and early 90s were perhaps the worst in terms of fashion. Girls, in particular, sported salwar that seemed like baggy pants, kameez used to have puffed shoulders and the hair..well lets not even go there. For crying out loud Dipak Tijori used to be a model in those days. Yep Deepak Tijori :giggle: That being said I also sported a yellow jeans gallantly for 2 solid years in my Engineering college days. Good thing nobody ever took a picture of it. The other guy I totally detest is Nana Patekar. I can't fathom why he gets so much critical acclaim. Hell, he's being praised to no end on this very thread. The scene that Lurker mentioned: " Vay sha lee vs veshali" is exactly the reason I detest the guy. He comes across in all his movies as a rude loud mouth who simply puts others down for no reason. I also don't rate him too highly as an actor. And the lesser one speaks about his looks, the better. In most of his roles, he's just blabbering irrelevant random stuff at 50000 words/minute and then he walks off. Comes across as a total retard ( had to use the word :D ) His most retarded scene is from the movie Agnisakshi. Where he whacks his wife over some minor tiff and goes on to shoot the music system at his neighbours party. WTH. And people actually like such stuff. :(( Nana Patekar is a terrific actor. He got "typed" for all the wrong reasons of course. People think of Nana and they think of his scene from KrantiVeer - Jo bacche apna naam nahin bata sakte usko kisne bataya ke yeh Hindu hai yeh Musalmaan hai?. Some of his best roles were essayed in Ankush,Disha (vastly underrated),Maafi-cha Saakshidaar (Marathi),Parinda and not to mention the military training that he took for his directorial venture in Prahaar (in his 40s).He is also very active in theatre, always the hall mark of a good performer. Ankush is a masterpiece, oft forgotten me thinks. I remember Ankush for Nana Patekar, obviously, and Nisha Singh. If I do run into her I am quite prepared to send my mom with naariyal, sawa rupiah and other gauna ka samaan.

It easy to rattle a few names, say Ek Doctor Ki Maut, than to actually find it online some place. Same with Mirch Masala, Mandi, Aakorosh etc. Come to think of it when these movies were being released, early to mid 80s, I had absolutely no interest in them. He says, its his friend "dilip" and I remember a scene, probably played by nas's shah, where he comes to the balcony and shouts "dilip" in frustration as he needs a friend like him too. It's later believed that dilip was just a fictitious name and the roommate was just a thief Another one was on doordarshan way back, I think it starred iftekar who is probably a judge or minister and the scene starts with servant sweeping the grass and find a pair of earrings which ten leads to a tough murder case...class movie

If I am right there was no Dilip, there was actually something else to it and one of the friends goes looking for dilip and becomes mad or a beggar. Correct?

Absolutely smashing movie.

I loved his movies and I think the couple of movies he did in combination with Naseerudin Shah were just a masterclass in acting. Your thoughts?
