Now we can argue if it is Marathi influencing Hindi (or even Tamil), or vice versa, but the essence remains true. The way Marathis speak Sanskruti instead of Sanskriti. This was dealt quite nicely, in my opinion, by Nana Patekar in Ab tak Chappan, Kya re tum log North-Indians? Vayshali? Vaishaali bolo Vaishaali :cantstop: I think i heard it in the movie "katha'

Marathi has not influenced Hindi and vice versa, though they are both Indo-Aryan languages with a common parent.Technically ,Hindi itself isn't spoken by us at all since most of us Indians speak Hindustani.Khariboli & Braj-Bhaasha were the pre-cursors to this with the correct Hindi. Now, Tamizh (originally) is a completely different language both in terms of structure and grammar. Its just that Tamizh has borrowed a lot of words from Sanskrit over the years (e.g. Vegham=speed) Most Marathi people are competent enough in Hindi though they speak it with hard consonants like "D" or "T".Marathi is a harsh language but very,very close to Sanskrit.

Black mein ticket lekar front row mein dekha tha. 6 rupaye ka ticket. 1 rupaye cycle stand mein. 2 rupaye ka samosa Interval mein. 10 rupaye mein movie khatam hehe. Movie itself was timepass. Jackie-Anil made a decent pair and I always rooted for Jackie :D still remember his entrance in Parinda...

He had a great collection of cars, banged up a borrowed ferrari in khandala as well The black fiat of parinda ( he owned one too ) brought fiats image back as a cool car and it was amongst the first floor shift models IIRC If anyone remembers Goga Kapoor - he turned his fiat into a left hand driv for kicks

I don't know why exactly, but I'm :mad: every time I see him on screen. The other guy I totally detest is Nana Patekar. I can't fathom why he gets so much critical acclaim. Hell, he's being praised to no end on this very thread. The scene that Lurker mentioned: " Vay sha lee vs veshali" is exactly the reason I detest the guy. He comes across in all his movies as a rude loud mouth who simply puts others down for no reason. I also don't rate him too highly as an actor. And the lesser one speaks about his looks, the better. In most of his roles, he's just blabbering irrelevant random stuff at 50000 words/minute and then he walks off. Comes across as a total retard ( had to use the word :D ) His most retarded scene is from the movie Agnisakshi. Where he whacks his wife over some minor tiff and goes on to shoot the music system at his neighbours party. WTH. And people actually like such stuff. :((

Its a mix of shuddh Marathi and make do Hindi. Quite a few of my friends stay in Pune and I frequently come across phrases like " tumko khaaneko kya paije" " Silk Route jaane ke liye yeh raasta gheun saral jao aur daavi kade mudo " :giggle: Thats true.

Tirangaa :hysterical: Remember the scene where those "State-of-the-art" missiles malfunction and Mr "Jaani" RajKumar tells Gendasamy "Hum ne missile ke phuse nikaal diye hain" On a serious note, Nana is one of the finest actors in this country comparable with Nasser-Om-Sanjeev Kumar-Mammootty.. Some of his best roles were essayed in Ankush,Disha (vastly underrated),Maafi-cha Saakshidaar (Marathi),Parinda and not to mention the military training that he took for his directorial venture in Prahaar (in his 40s).He is also very active in theatre, always the hall mark of a good performer.

akshayxyz Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 I enjoyed those Tiranga types movies when they first came out. But now it is difficult to watch them completely at a sitting. But some of the old classics are always good watch - esp 70s, early 80s.. Bachchan / Palekar kind of classic stuff.
