rkt.india
Count how many good test batsmen we have produced since 2000 to 2008. We blame IPL for ruining our talent, but do we have that kind of a talent any more which can survive test cricket. WE probably only found Gautam Gambhir and even he started doing well in tests after 2008. IPL started in 2008. We won T20 WC in 2007, but what about before that. in these 7-8 years, we could not manage to find any batsman who could play test cricket for India for long time apart from Sehwag who debuted in 2002 but he had debuted in 1998 for India and then Gambhir who debuted for India in 2004 but could not establish himself in the test team for a long time. This takes us to a question whether we struggled because lack of talent. It is not all IPL's fault, IMO, blame the generation. This is a generation of short cut. Hard work does not suit them. IPL is iust rubbing the salt on the wounds of misery, nothing else. This has been a dry decade in terms of new test batting talents for India. Link to comment
Trichromatic
I don't think there is lack of talent. I believe talents haven't been used properly. Give youngsters to make debut in test cricket directly and let them play for few years. India will get good batsmen. Link to comment
