Moman211 Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Theres this academy in the United States where bowlers picked out by the ECB go to do intensive strength and conditioning training. During the 1 month training camp the bowlers dont play any cricket but other sports such as basketball and volleyball. This has helped steve finn become quicker and has turned Jade Durnbach from a fast-medium to an out and out fast bowler.
Cricket_Guru Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 it definitely helps alot, take fitness to the next level...
Serani Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Any bowler can add around 5 MPH with a little bit of hard work in the gym! Hence all england bowlers have increased pace since they first appear. The main factor is nutrition, lets face it them indians obviously dont get enough proteinz.
Trichromatic Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Any bowler can add around 5 MPH with a little bit of hard work in the gym! Hence all england bowlers have increased pace since they first appear. Not just by hitting the gym, but improving the bowling techniques, habit and their bowling routines. Stuart Broad is best example. He was just a medium fast bowler earlier and now he easily bowls over 140 consistently.

Maybe...not because they can't...its because they chose not to otherwise there are plenty of options in Indian food that can help these players gain protein. Again..Indian players must pay more attention to their diet and fitness...that is the only way to improve in the field.

Beta Serani, remember how many of your protein-eating wrestlers was made to eat dirt by our poor protein-less boys in CWG 2010? Do I have to spell all their names? Also, please find out how much protein this man must have had, to hit a volleyball with this power: mdrD7rssjZY
Midfielder Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Protein is important probably 200 grams a day but it cannot come from food alone. As far as fitness and conditioning is concerned I have to admit the standard is poor indeed.
