No I disagree..compare and see them at same speeds with Malinga and Edwards and you will find the difference. Short bowlers look quicker to eyes because of low trajectory and less distance to cover for the ball. A ball has to cover less distance when a short bowler at 5'10" delivers a fuller length ball while ball will have to travel more distance when a bowl at 6'6" delivers it at fuller length. Ball will cover short distance in quick time and bowl will look quicker while a tall bowler will loose less pace of the pitch when pitched short of length and will be quicker when facing the ball as it will lose less pace after pitching in comparison to a short bowler who will have to pitch it too short.

johnson has stamina and is really quick,finn is not that quick ,finn is accurate than johnson because of his action.

malinga looks quicker because batsmen struggle to pick his action hence are late on the ball which makes him look quicker , i dont think short bowlers on a whole looks quicker than taller bowlers of similar pace what pace is fast medium accordng to u ? as far as that u19 wc there was only 1 match which was shown maybe he didnt bowl well in that match so didnt impress but he certainly could touch 140k even at u19 level. though finn yesterday was quick but if he bowls day in day out his pace will be like broads ie 130-145 range

Rubbish.I have followed finn from his u19 days and even in first class he was 130 - 137 ' date='[b']in ashes he was 130-138. he bowled 145 +in one odi in aus and yesterday he bowled 140 and touched 150.but that's just a match he has to bowl 140+ in all conditions first .

That is correct bro. Finn bowled 130 - 138k in the ashes and looked like a medium fast swing bowler who floated he ball, but was bowling 138-142 the next time I saw him some time later. Yesterday he bowled between 142 to 152 k. Whether he has actually increased his average speed or he is doing an Ashish Nehra remains to be seen, the next series will tell. But I liked him as a bowler. The guy has potential.

In the ashes Finn had to bowl all day in the heat after Broad got injured, of course he will not be steaming in.

I hope the same logic is applied to Ishant Sharma who was bowling 5kph slower than the previous Windies test series ( where he was touching 145 k often ) because he had an ankle injury and in 2 matches zaheer and harbhjan were injured. Sadly that logic is missing then.

As I mentioned in previos posts hats off to ishant the guy ran in the whole series even after playing so tests in wi,look at bresnan and broad after playing 3 and 4 tests there speed has dropped to 130 even in odis where broad was quicker now he is injured.

Only you and a few others notice this fact. Pacers from other teams are often bowling 128- 132k average range in many spells. But the distinguished commentators, and some fans also, compare the fastest ball of a foreigner with the slowest ball by an Indian. Broad becomes a 146k bowler and Sreesanth becomes a 127 k bowler. This is a very unscientific approach.
