Vijay.Sharma Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 I thought UDRS was supposed to be mandatory from now onwards? http://www.espncricinfo.com/pakistan/content/current/story/532121.html
mishra Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Soon there wont be any DRS for any series. Why would any board spent money on some technology unless ICC got balls to implement it. Honestly, I think ICC should generate revenue from each game played and pay for DRS instead of relying on individual boards.
Vijay.Sharma Posted September 12, 2011 Author Posted September 12, 2011 I'd rather do away with all those fancy gadgets and just use the good old replays for the DRS. The intent is to reverse howlers and replays are more than enough to reverse howlers
ganeshran Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 BCCI's two main reasons for the opposition to technology was its accuracy and the cost to respective boards. Both reasons have been vindicated with many boards not being able to pay for the technology and hawk eye admitting error in their ball tracking technology. Hotspot has been proved to be wrong quite a few times in the Ind-Eng series. Whatever the rules, they should be applied uniformly. As far as lbw decisions are concerned - inside edges, pitching outside leg and impact outside are fairly clear decisions with no ambiguity. Let the review cover only these points rather than ball tracking which has been shown to have less than optimal accuracy
saneindian Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 How would the Sky crew react to this? Would Nasser Hussain rip into PCB or will he have sympathy for them?
Rightarmfast Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Nasseer Hussain is media savvy.. A comment against pakistan doesnt make a spicy reading as one against India. I would assume he will keep shut and be a donkey which he is.
bhanu Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 We couldn't even afford a speed gun in zim series :nervous:
