For more please watch the daily show latest episode. This is really quite unreal. Sorry for another Gym topic.
One word for this - women. Gyms are now called fitness clubs for a reason. Sure there are some folks who grunt for no reason but these days gyms are becoming a pilate, spinning place rather than simply lifting weights. The women who are hardcore and into gym resent this development as much as die hard lifting men do. xx

^ Agreed. This is mainly the reason why I hate going to the gym. All the gyms I have been to are essentially one more tick in the box to live as per some gawdy lifestyle mag's checklist (I'm not old enough to know how it was 'back in the day' tbh). That and the work-like feel that gymming has; The whole feeling that it must be done as a necessity rather than for enjoyment. Don't get me wrong, I'm hardly a couch potato (just came back from a nice 15 km run through the countryside :D) but I feel there's something very facile and vacuous about this gymming trend and the industry that tries to milk it. Especially among the more urbane Indians if I can stick my neck out. Maybe I'm right, maybe I'm being irrational but jus sayin... /end rant.

Even though I m not a big fan of people grunting loudly around me, I have found myself guilty of this act as well specially when I m pushing myself with extra weights. But baning people from grunting in gym is just absurd

Those who are in the gym as a necessity bow down after a while. Regular gymming is only for those who enjoy it as part of their life. Doesnt mean they have to be a big dude, but more the kind who looks forward to being in the gym the next day, eats right and sleeps well.
