Since then, this was the only series where both of them played otherwise, either one of them have skipped an indo-pak series because of injury. I think Shoiab's mistake was that he used the wrong word scared. Had he simply written something like I was surprised that he walked, it would haven't created such a furore. And TBH, Sachin was woefully out of form in that series. He had struggled big time against Shoaib and Asif in the last test. But that was more because of the tennis elbow i believe. Since shoaib has brought in the word scared, it has become a problem for a few desh bhakts.

Another incident that happened during the same innings was Sehwag asking Actor "abe ja bheekh maangna band kar aur bowling kar". Sehwag has just got the match misplaced there. If the thing was a lie, Actor would have said something about this in his book, instead he has prasied Sehwag.

I remember the 2nd innings where Sachin had come out all guns blazing. He had pulled 1-2 deliveries from Shoaib to the boundary. I remember Imran Khan saying in the post match show, that looking at Sachin play those pulls, I would say that his career is far from over. In the first inning, I somehow felt he was a bit circumspect but I think you are right that was also because that was the 2nd time he got to bat in that test series. And he was dismissed by Razzaq i believe. Having said that, the balls bowled v/s runs scored data that you came up with for Sachin against both Shoaib and Asif was an eye opener for me. I remember that match vaguely and all I remember is Sachin being hit in the head and his mode of dismissals which made me believe that he had struggled against them in that series. :hatsoff:
