Tiger80 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Of course that case needs to be dealt in the sam way too. One doesnt excuse the other. Modi's name comes in most discussion because its still a current issue and the cases are still going on The cases of 1984 riots are also still going on.The name of Rajiv or any other leader don't come because media never mention.BTW do you know that even Kamalnath was reported of being leading a mob to attack historical Gurdwara in Delhi. http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2011-03-03/india/28649882_1_gurpatwant-singh-pannun-anti-sikh-riots-kamal-nath The reason Modi's name come's to most discussion because our media is very much pro congress and want to create devil out of modi. They just want to convince young Indians that Modi is the only leader who was responsible for state sponsered killing of muslims and most young indians which totally lack knowledge of Indian politics just fall for this trap http://www.gujaratriots.com/23/myth-6-gujarat-riots-were-the-ÃØorst-ever-massacre?in-india/
Lurker Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 The cases of 1984 riots are also still going on.The name of Rajiv or any other leader don't come because media never mention.BTW do you know that even Kamalnath was reported of being leading a mob to attack historical Gurdwara in Delhi. Who comes up with such nonsense? The names dont come up for people who choose to ignore. Folks like Sajjan Kumar, HKL Bhagat etc were household names across India, and even their party (Congress) treated them as pariah for a while. And yes Kamal Nath's name was also in the mix. There is no surprise there. The reason why media "ignores" it is not because Congress owns it but because 1984 is 27 years from today. Gujrat is relatively new and in an era when the world is on 24*7 thanks to cable and internet. By the way I am not sure how old you are but if you were lucky to be around in 80s you would realize how Goenka(Indian Express) was going after Congress thanks to some brilliant journalism by likes of Arun Shourie. None of this nautanki of Barkha Dutt of today...or Narendra Modi for that matter.
Lurker Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Though the point that Sikh extremism was prevalent back then is true, it in no way relates to the fact that those who were massacred after Indira Gandhi's assassination in the capital had nothing to do with the Khalistan movement. And I concur with that. People killed in Delhi had little to do with Khalistan movement. My answer was more to the "point" that Congress got elected by 400 seats or so because the entire nation was soul-less. The fact is most Indians were taken aback hugely by Indira Gandhi assasination, and at the hands of Sikh bodyguards, which was a cut and dry reason to invoke sympathy vote for PM getting killed for taking tough decision. They voted Congress in, had little to do with 1984 riots in Delhi really. By the by I dont buy this whole, if you vote somebody in power you are soul-less. I should know, my state voted Laloo and Rabri to power for 20 years. :secret:
Rajiv Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Apart from being soul-less ( if thats the buzz word ). If not Modi, then who in Gujarat? I am just trying to see from a voter perspective. This is a real question, as it may seem that I am being sarcastic
Lurker Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 By the feckin by, post that mutiny crap paragraph from operation bluestar period, some Sikh soldiers did that, do you know how many did that? and do you know anything about the contribution of Sikhs in pre-independence & post Independence towards India? why don't you post a list of up / bihari soldiers who contributed & won bravery awards while fighting for India, after that I'll post a list of Sikh regiment soldiers who have won bravery awards, then we can compare. stop your bakwas, and post some names....don't run like a coward now :icflove: Haha. Looks like my point hit home. :winky: Repeat after me, in the history of modern India only one regiment has mutinied, and that regiment comprised folks from a certain religious section. Dont shoot the messenger, go shoot those who brought you a bad name. As for UP soldiers why pull them in, I aint from UP. I am from Bihar and if you wanna go after Biharis, let me remind you when Bihari soldiers participated the 1857 revolt guess which group supported British Army. Yep the same lot who mutinied in 1984 Damn! Now you must be frothing at your mouth :giggle::giggle: How does it feel to betray twice? :nervous: xxx
Lurker Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Apart from being soul-less ( if thats the buzz word ). If not Modi' date= then who in Gujarat? I am just trying to see from a voter perspective. This is a real question, as it may seem that I am being sarcastic Thats a Kabira question, but Gujrat has always been a better managed state as compared to most other states.
Lurker Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 I'll just post the link of my regiment and will also paste some content from it so that you can see it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sikh_Regiment Your regiment? :hysterical: Didnt know I was talking to the Brigadier General here. Desh ke bahar rahte ho aur desh ka regiment tumhare chacha ka lol! The pertinent piece of "your" regiment is simply this Following Operation Bluestar, some of the recruits at Ramgarh, Bihar mutinied. They shot and killed the Commandant of the Sikh Regimental Center, Brigadier S.C. Puri and wounded some other officers. They then got hold of a number of trucks and started to proceed towards Punjab, but were stopped by army men in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh So "your' regiment mutinied. Only time in history of modern India. And also got their butts stopped by "Bihari' regiment. Having a heart attack yet? Twice betrayal..Dang! And the second time got stopped by the very states you are spitting vitriol against. Shame shame. :--D:--D
gs Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 I'd be the last person to disparage the sikhs over patriotism. Their contribution to the nation is immense!
bulbul Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Thanks BossBhai for appreciating & respecting the fact that soldiers & freedom fighters from my community have done their bit for their beloved country' date=' it's a shame that some sick individuals who just post a incident & try to tarnish all the bravery & blood of those brave soldiers..[b']yet don't have the balls to post what contribution their particular state has done towards the freedom of this great country & also fighting wars after we got Independence U_S better try to condemn the Posters rather tahn their state...we cant paint everyone on same brush...may be their state would have contributed in any other way to country... Just because others stoop so low we doesnt have to stoop even lower.... i dont think any person in India have anything but respect towards Sikh community ogher than Sardarji jokes and bajji :two_thumbs_up:
