BERGKAMP Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 sadly i think test cricket will be dead soon (5-10 years), you can count on one hand the number of top class batsmen in each team, and most of them are coming to the end of their careers and once they are gone there will be no one to replace them. nz, sl, wi are already at a crap level and will only get worse. the new generation are being bought up on smashing the ball out of the park, not on having a great technique to bat under pressure. add that to the modern world where everybody is in a rush and has no time to even breathe it doesn't bode well for test matches. also grounds are empty everywhere except for england, who are the only country that can sell out against most teams.
Trichromatic Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Test cricket in transition period and once again balance will shift towards bowlers. We will witness era of great bowlers in near future.
Sooda Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 As someone who grew up watching a lot of cricket in the mid to late 90's and onwards, cricket nowadays sucks in comparision. No real bowlers for a start. Im sure older guys must be feeling that even more.
