Vijay.Sharma Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 O yeah! So Metallica came to Bangalore...an estimated 70k ppl were at the show. I relived some nice moments from my younger days. All cool. But oh hell have Myatallica become effing commercial or what...bloody rehearsed interactions too! damn it! Any day Iron Maiden beats Metallica for putting up a show. It just ain't worth the international band hype. I have seen possibly a hundred rock shows by now and except for the size of the crowd Metallica was no different from Bramha (bramha were better in fact) or the rock shows by Ezee Meat, Pentagram, Moksha. But hey, they were definitely good...not as bad as you may think - it's just that I have a huge sample size to compare them with. Among the international bands I have seen, Metallica is behind Iron Maiden and Roger Waters. But the best part was we did it just like the old days - total rocker style...almost gate crashed but finally some good samaritan found us at the venue and sold us the tickets 2 minutes before the first song by Metallica was played. And what have you...there was a gang of kids standing next to me and they had some dope...I shared my cigarettes with the girl and she shared me her dope...it was just like 10-15 yrs back except that we didn't gate crash. We almost did...we found a pepsi fellow giving us one pepsi band that would gain us entrance as pepsi fellows - just like old times (never ever pay for a rock show). But we are old now and we do think we have to pay for the entertainment if only to show our appreciation. Anyway, now it is decided no more international bands...they are just not worth it. Only Ozzy or GnR may change the decision
jusarrived Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Completely agree .. never been a huge fan of theirs for the same reason , music is very populistic ..but it was alright overall .you know its one of those things to strike of from your things to do list . Roger waters has been the biggest let down for me uptill now .

Roger waters has been the biggest let down for me uptill now .were you around for Iron Maiden? My friend who saw Maiden said he felt Dire Straits were even better. Roger Waters the sound was not really Floydish but last night's sound was worse than that I thought...or maybe I wasn't standing in the right place....there was hardly any bass
