1983-2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 The historical village of Pirana, an embodiment of communal harmony, echoed with extremists thoughts on Saturday with the start of the Vishwa Hindu ParishadÃÔ (VHP) three-day meet. The religious leaders expressed the view that the answer to growing terrorism can only be given in the form of counter terrorism. Pirana, 25 km away from Ahmedabad city, where the Dargah (a Sufi shrine) of Imam Shah Baba exists for the last 600 years, turned saffron colour as hundreds of members of VHP flocked the village for the meet called ÃÂ¥harm Prasar Akhil Bharatiya Karyakarta Sammelan? The meeting, which is being held at Gurukul School, was addressed by various religious gurus including Mohan Joshi, VHP, Nanak Dasji Maharaj, president of Imam Shah Baba Sanstha Trust, Vijay Abhaydevji Maharaj, Surishshwar Maharaj, Pravin Togadia among others. While addressing the crowd on the first day of the meet, the religious gurus largely expressed views which were in variance to the ideas of Pirana Dargah, which is an example of religious tolerance. One of the leaders kept on saying that the time has come to become suicide bombers to give answers to the ëihadis? The Muslim trustees of the Dargah (Saiyeds) preferred to stay away from the event as around 30 members of the VHP will be staying in the DargahÃÔ campus where a temple also exists. Although the VHP along with Hindu trustees (7 Satpanthis) claimed that not a single trustee including Saiyeds raised objection to the arrangement, Saiyed Nuruddin Bade Miyan on the other hand rubbished such claims. Ÿe are against such meetings and we havenÃÕ given any permission orally or in writing. They (Satpanthis) are doing what they want to do. All we want to say is that if you donÃÕ believe in the ideology of what Imam Shah Baba taught, should leave the Dargah alone, said Bade Miyan. They said that such events are signs of converting the place into an extremist form of Hinduism which is against the idea of founder of the Dargah Imam, Shah Baba. He said that everything happening at the Dargah is being done on the basis of power but not with unanimous consent. http://www.dnaindia.com/india/report_vhp-says-answer-to-terrorism-is-counter-terrorism_1608329
1983-2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Author Posted November 8, 2011 VHP slams policies of Gujarat govt AHMEDABAD: The second day of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) three-day convention - Dharma Prasad at Pirana was marked with participants taking a dig at state government policies. The convention was attended by over 1,000 people. On Sunday, VHP international general secretary Pravin Togadia said that the state government should refrain from bringing the 'prevention of communal and targeted violence' Bill. Talking about cow slaughter, Togadia said the situation has worsened due to shrinking pasture land in the state. "The state government has been actively involved in destroying pasture lands and allotting them to industries, making it difficult for cattle owners," said Togadia. Speaking on the occasion, SP Swami of Gadhada Swaminarayan temple said that religious organizations and trusts should oppose the bill related with donations to trusts and NGOs which is sent by the state government to the governor for her approval. tnn In a bid to tighten the noose around bogus trusts and NGOs working in the religious and cultural sphere, the state government has prepared a bill aimed at keeping a tab on the finances of such organizations. http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2011-11-07/ahmedabad/30369016_1_pravin-togadia-vhp-international-general-secretary-vishwa-hindu-parishad
1983-2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Author Posted November 8, 2011 AsaramÃÔ son attends VHP meet in Ahmedabad Narayan Sai, son of the controversial guru Asaram Bapu, surprised everyone with his presence at the Vishwa Hindu Parishad's (VHP) conference in Pirana village on Monday, the last day of the three-day event. Sai and his father have been evading summons issued by the commission investigating the mysterious death of two boys near Asaram's ashram in Motera. The two minor boys were students of the Asaram gurukul. The VHP, however, claimed that Sai had not literally been 'invited' but, being a 'saint', he was informed about the event. Dharmendra Bhevani, state coordinator of VHP's Dharm Prasaar wing, said that Sai had come to 'grace' the event as his organisation considers every Hindu saint as its member. On the last day of the conference, several religious preachers delivered inflammatory speeches and appealed to delegates to start anti-conversion drives back home in their towns and villages. Thousands of VHP members from different states participated in the conference at Pirana, a village 25 km away from Ahmedabad. The village is famous for its 600-year-old dargah (shrine) of Sufi saint Imam Shah Baba and is a symbol of Hindu-Muslim unity. Most speakers at the three-day event gave provocative speeches directed against minorities. Their speeches were broadcast through loudspeakers. On Monday, the international general secretary of the VHP, Pravin Togadia, came up with some radical ideas for putting an end to conversion and the so-called 'problems' in Hindu society. During the three-day event, the VHP speakers bombarded the village with all kinds of Hindu fundamentalist ideas, forgetting that Pirana symbolises tolerance and Hindu-Muslim unity. The Muslim trustees of the shrine kept away from the RSS-run Gurukul. http://www.dnaindia.com/india/report_asarams-son-attends-vhp-meet-in-ahmedabad_1609525
Stuge Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 I didn't read the whole article ,but headline made me  If you go that route then India will also become Pakistan .
deathmonger Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Stupid right wing hindu fundamentalists. they should put all the hindu and muslim fundamentalists on one island so that they kill each other. then shoot the survivors.
surajmal Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Stupid right wing hindu fundamentalists. they should put all the hindu and muslim fundamentalists on one island so that they kill each other. then shoot the survivors. what is a hindu fundamentalist? and why is he/she comparable to islamic fundamentalists?
deathmonger Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 what is a hindu fundamentalist? and why is he/she comparable to islamic fundamentalists? because they are the same ****. islamic fundamendalists get the backing of ppl from across the border so they are able to do terrorist attacks other bullshit. the only reason hindu fundamentalists do not carry out acts of such magnitude but contend themselves with beating up couples, women wearing 'indecent' clothing etc. is because they don't have backing of the government. a hindu fundamentalist is one who brands all muslims as terrorists and believes that the best way to 'clean up' the country is by getting rid of them or killing them but can't due to lack of support mentioned above (when support is there stuff like godhra happen). they have also taken the theka of deciding what indian culture is and anybody deviating from their set norms should be punished.

Pretty baseless arguments. If you are calling them fundamentalist, then you are calling them "religious" fanatics. So compare vedas with quran. Two schools of thought that couldn't be more different. As for crap like beating up couples and women wearing 'indecent' clothing, those people are, for lack of a better word, hooligans and more than likely were politically motivated to commit such acts (besides, I wouldn't put it past congress and its ilk to commit such anti social acts to create further divisions in hindu majority while gaining minority votes.)

I'm not saying this is not the case with certain sections of muslim society in India. but to paint everyone in one brush...

How many terrorist attacks have taken place in India over the last 30 years? Which religion do the perpetrators belong to? India more than any other country in the world has a right to be angry with Islam. If you don't see that simple fact, there is no discussion to be had here. And behind the apparent animosity of nationalistic Hindu groups towards Islam, there is 800 years of frustration. Frustration that congress has tried to bury by playing vote bank politics to gain power repeatedly since independence. Until the underlying frustrations are addressed, this country's social fabric will remain perforated. With a broken electoral system, Congress can sure win elections by demonizing hindu majority but as a country we cannot take the next step forward when 80 % of the country are made to be subservient and disregard their identity.
desi.boy Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 It can act as a deterrence for pak. Lets say if RAW covertly forms a fake group named smthing like 'Retaliatory attacks group against pak sponsored terrorism', which explodes bombs in pak as retaliation for each bomb explosion in india in future and claims responsibility through emails. Probably then, the pak sponsored attacks on indian soil will stop.

Probably then, the pak sponsored attacks on indian soil will stop. That will probably make things worse. Recruitment for Jihadi organizations will probably go up 10 folds. Best route is to let that craphole stew in its own dungpile and build up defensive mechanisms (like ballistic missile defense) and intelligence capabilities to take out the trash in our own backyard. I'm pretty confident before this whole thing is over and pakis meet their certain demise, they will try to lob over few nukes (even smuggle them in ) over the border to take us down with them. So we've gotta be ready for that eventuality.

Lakhvi heading LeT from prison, Dawood, Hafeez saeed n co doing anti-india stuff freely, 2500 terrorist ready to infiltrate from PoK etc etc, growing frustration n anger in our public regarding this shhit should also concern india.

Sarkar Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 @ death monger Bhai there is no such called hindu terrorism not in India
deathmonger Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 @ death monger Bhai there is no such called hindu terrorism not in India I know, that's what I'm saying - there shouldn't be in the future. We have to combat Islamic terrorism but we cannot counter it with Hindu terrorism else we'll have two problems in our hand instead of one.
deathmonger Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 What are we subservient to? Who has made us subservient? How have we been made to disregard our identity? He believes 80% of Hindus are being subservient because we have not embraced our 'Hindu' identity and turned the country into a Hindu version of Pakistan.
CSK Fan Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Looks like some people want us to be another version of Pak. Our strength lies in our secularity and unity not in our religious identity. The former makes us one nation, the later is something which we practise in private

seedhi Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 We have sham/partial secularism : separate laws for separate religions is not true secularism. Manmohan Singh said : "Minorities, especially the Muslims, have the first right on the natural resources." Should the PM of a "secular" nation be saying this ?
