And some guy that im fairly sure lives in america claiming he bowls at 134 in his club matches :giggle: People have no idea basically.
panther Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 We dont get tape balls here in India.........else would have loved to play with them.........mostly played tennis balls and season balls........In tennis it was more about bowling cutters.... you should try it out i think tape cost 20 rupees in pak so probably cheaper in india

That's y u see skinny weak looking young teenagers hitting 90mph like MAmir n ISharma. N I can bet that I m twice in size n strength than both of them. From day one of my cricketing life, I have only enjoyed bowling and that too just fast bowling. My action n my muscle memory is something which helps me get that pace. N to be honest , 132 is not too fast for a club bowler. Even PKumar bowls at speed:cantstop:

I said I clocked 'Max' of 128 with my most effort ball in nets. Which means I hope I can clock 132 with my most effort ball. Maybe fastest I can bowl is only 128 even with a longer runup. Can't say without a speed gun. On top, to play pro cricket u gotta give up ur education n time, which I cudnt do n still can't. Nonetheless I m the fastest in my league here

My team played against a yorkshire under 19 fast bowler who was apparently clocked in the low 80s. The pitch was seaming and bouncing a bit.. ridiculously terrifying and with the keeper and 4 slips a pitch and a half's length behind the crease. Adding to that, the keeper was collecting every ball above his waist. And for my club there was an Australian guy who clocked 75 mph once but was quite scary to face (he was 6 foot 6 or so). He bowled in the nets before Aus v Ind test match at the SCG and Sachin told him to move him to the other nets after coming down the wicket and smashing him because he was too slow. Easy to bowl at FC/District level pace behind a keyboard.. really doubt whether these guys would be quicker than Graeme Swann or Anil Kumble (srs).

Since you are from England, you would know about this speed gun challenge a few years back. It is not hard to bowl late 70's to 80mph. Even part timers who are batsmen can bowl this speed. The guy who bowled after me was a white guy, did a huge run and got 78mph. 85mph+ is what is rare for amateurs.

Why would anyone lie on this forum, we don't even know each other in real life. These people need to understand that amateurs can bowl at this pace. Clearly they have never been to speedgun challenge competitions. I saw PK bowling in nets in England and he was similar pace to me. Ishant and Santh were quicker.
Serani Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 I played against a guy that went on cricket am speed gun challenge last season and clocked 73 and he was pretty quick and hit the bat hard, licked him for a 6 though. Not the fastest ive faced but I know what he has clocked at least. Anything above 75 for amateurs will be a challenge, and we get guys playing cricket in America claiming they can bowl in the low 80's, America for christs sake, im fairly sure my clubs under 15's could beat any american clubs side. Put a bowling machine on 80 MPH and you will realise you are nowhere near that pace.

You really know nothing.

So there is no need to impress:yay: Even part timers like Dhoni and Ponting can touch 80mph and they are trying to bowl accurately. I went all out, the delivery was crap but good wheels for amatuer. Like I said, I can't bat to save my life and my friend who is a good batsmen and has faced the bowling machine set to beyond 80mph, comments on my lively pace. I haven't played club e.t.c but everytime I play with people who have, they comment on my pace being quickish.
