Ultimate_Game Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Debatable. Mongia has failed with the bat in a lot of matches and hasnt even been able to smash tired attacks. Mongia did play that great knock of 50 and you are a Dhoni worshipper if you don't acknowledge the same
The Outsider Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Debatable. Mongia has failed with the bat in a lot of matches and hasnt even been able to smash tired attacks. Big deal. I don't pick my keeper on the basis of their abilities to smash tired attacks - I pick them first and foremost to be able to keep well and secondly on their ability to put in the odd superb performance rising above the occasion. If we play hypothetical world XIs mine would always beat yours because yours would not be able to catch behind the stumps and in a crunch situation your wicket keeper would be a walking wicket.

So Dhoni is a walking wkt who drops everything behind the wkt now and Mongia a match-winner :omg:
The Outsider Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 So Dhoni is a walking wkt who drops everything behind the wkt now and Mongia a match-winner :omg: Yeah in a crunch situation, Dhoni is a walking wicket and he has given numerous live demos of it.
Sid Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Yeah in a crunch situation' date=' Dhoni is a walking wicket and he has given numerous live demos of it.[/quote'] Should I list some examples of crunch situation performances but ofcourse Mongia is better.
Ultimate_Game Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Yeah in a crunch situation' date=' Dhoni is a walking wicket and he has given numerous live demos of it.[/quote'] Define "crunch" situations can you? I am sure Dhoni saving a game in Eng batting with the tail was not crunch enough coz the only "crunch" situation when Mongia scored 50 which anyways we went on to lose :giggle:

Dhoni rarely drops catches. His issue is that he fumbles balls because he stands back and sometimes the ball bounces before him. I would agree to a criticism of Dhoni's test performances which is justified, but comparing him to Mongia and saying the latter is both a better keeper and a performer in crunch situations is very unfair to Dhoni

Amazing you actually used an example of "crunch" performance where Mongia's knock didn't even manage to save the game :haha: I am sure your world XI team will beat other teams with such crunch and clutch performances :cantstop:

Ultimate_Game Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 That would be yours if you include Goddy and then blame the wicketkeeper and Joshi for not scoring enough.:hysterical: At least I didn't come up with an example of a "cruch" performance where the stated knock actually didn't win or even save the game :giggle: Guess I need to learn what "cruch" means - maybe Mongia can educate me :haha:

We are still waiting with bated breath to see those examples on this thread, coz we didn't see them in the actual match :cantstop:

Jersey #10 Posted November 26, 2011 Author Posted November 26, 2011 ^ FTB? really? :fail: There is this misconception that when Sachin makes a 100, it's a flat track (maybe his batting technique makes it look very easy on eyes) Another misconception is that if Sachin doesn't score 100, he has failed, 90s don't count as good scores in his case while they are legendary in case of some others such as Laxman. If Sachin doesn't score well once, he has chocked. If some other doesn't score, they say that, you can't expect him to score every time.

At least try to understand and read whom the post is referring to before starting your bhakti.
Jersey #10 Posted November 26, 2011 Author Posted November 26, 2011 :haha: Mongia > SRT Does he also beat SRT by RPT? :giggle:
Jersey #10 Posted November 26, 2011 Author Posted November 26, 2011 Next what? Chris Martin > Tendu? May be Jaddu > SRT...god knows what these people come up with...They may prove this by using some special IPL innings :dontknow:
