Dravid_TheWall Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Yes that is right! Since winning the world cup, both appear are playing ordinary and not taking this series very seriously. They should take each game seriously and not treat it like a net session. Dare I say it they should take a leaf out of Santh's glowing book, he is working hard to regain fitness and has made himself available for Aus ODI series despite winning the world cup! The hunger is there..these two fat midgets are not taking this series seriously and playing each ball on its merit.

saneindian Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 So the troll again brings in Sree in a thread about Gauti and Viru. Kutte ki dum and blah blah blah...
Dravid_TheWall Posted December 5, 2011 Author Posted December 5, 2011 Where they taking tests seriously? Viru wasn't in eng series but now seems to be getting back in his groove. ODI he just sees as a joke unless its a major compeition. Gambhir doesn't look like the player he was. Hope rohit makes his 100 :((
ViruRulez Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 I would somewhat agree about Veeru and Gauti. They have hardly performed in ODIs in 2011 and are not looking serious about the shorter format. I also mentioned in the other thread that oppositions have stopped fearing Veeru as he is hardly scoring runs in recent times. Gauti who used to be extremely consistent is also going down the line in ODIs. Maybe time to replace them with Kohli and Rohit when the full strength team returns unless they start scoring again.

Think they are taking their place for granted as seniors, but we have plenty of batting talent in our ranks so they should be aware of that. Viru in tests doesn't score big anymore, deffo a decline in the way he is playing currently. Think it is lack of concentration rather than anything serious.
BeautifulGame Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 People have very short memories.I can understand about Sehwag but Gambhir has been excellent in ODis apart from this series.Even against England he scored half centuries in 2nd and 3rd ODIs.

He did but hasn't looked himself in tests or odi to me. Old errors creeping in again. Like front foot falling over when clipping leg side or misjudgement outside off. Those were his issues when he first made his debut.
Dravid_TheWall Posted December 5, 2011 Author Posted December 5, 2011 Replace Sehwag and Gambhir? :WTF: Wasim Jaffer, lazy elegance but FTB B->

I was mentioning mainly about Veeru. It has been long since I have seen him score well for longer durations which I also mentioned in another thread a few days back. As I mentioned earlier the "fear factor" of Veeru has vanished in recent times and that was his biggest USP. Otherwise consistency was never his format but at least he used to score once in a few matches. Now he scores once in a blue moon in ODIs.
ViruRulez Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Wasim Jaffer' date=' lazy elegance but FTB B->[/quote'] Sorry Jaffer etc. are not of international quality .. there are lot of better players in domestics

Number Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Apart from one line mentioning Santh(Its okay we all know hes trolling) , I agree with OP. It is better to take rest than just forcing yourself. At least a youngster will get his chance.
Texy Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 it's a ploy to lure the OZs watching this in believing our openers are out of form

The hunger is there..these two fat midgets are not taking this series seriously and playing each ball on its merit.Dude I thought you were honestly backing the guy because of his talent but statements like these make me suspect you have some PR mgmt contract with him. Are you really serious about that statement...its quite absurd to say that he is making himself available for Aus ODI series when he is not even in the priority list of bowlers and can only make it if at least 5 or 6 of our top bowlers all get injured. His only hope is to perform well in Ranji trophy which he doesn't seem to play enough. I was actually surprised he hasn't played even 50 Ranji games since his debut almost 7 seasons ago. And he has had the opportunity to represent his state for the most part for almost the whole season in the last few years.
Vijay.Sharma Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 I agree with the main point though...Viru and Gauti need to be dropped and need to earn their places in the ODI team all over again
