Is the Fast bowling brigade for Aussie series the "FASTEST EVER" for India?

We've got 3 bowlers who can clock 145k any given day

I certainly think this is the fastest bowling quartet ever to be in Indian squad, From Zak to Umesh, Ishant, Aaron everyone can hit 145 with the latter three even able to pass 150 k's, with fitness not being an issue, and if our bowlers are in form, our bowling attack could be better then theirs.Although selectors missed a trick by selecting Mithun which is a waste, I would've preferred Gony, Dinda,or if no one else even Pathan if he raises his speed will be better then Mithun who is a buffet bowler at present, Pathan is swinging the ball both ways, bowling well, his pace being the only factor , if he can bowl 130 to 135k's he can trouble good batsmen.We all know domestic speed guns or pace at which bowlers bowl is not an indication of what they will bowl at international arena, as Umesh , Aaron bowled in 130 's in domestic games this year. I am not sure why Gony is being neglected, he has the requisites,very tall, high bowling action, very good bounce, bowling consistently at 135 k's in domestic level would mean 140 k's or above at international arena, can move the ball,is fit, experienced and highest wicket taker with good S/R IN last 2 years.

As per some of the batsmen who faced him, Pathan is bowling at 118-120 K. If he gets to play in tomorrow's ODI we will know for sure his current pace. There are lot of guys in the domestic circuity who are bowling at 135+ & 140+.

I am worried about Umesh for the last two one dayers he has cut down his pace.he was mainly bowling in mid 130's

he is bowling according to the conditions. tests in australia are totally different fro ODIs in the subcontinent. i am sure he will be faster there.

yep its quickest even if only ishant and yadav play lol but i dont think its about pace these guys need to concentrate more on there wicket taking balls than hitting 150 a good deadly outswinger at 143 is better than easy 150 ball out side off stump imo

btw speed is recorded when bowl leaves the hand.. so technically australia wont increase there speed on speedometer just saying :P

That is true , aided with bouncy tracks , carry , less humidity, better conditions , bowlers in general bowl about 5 k's faster on better tracks.

If u listen to established batsmen , a bowler bowling at 140 or 150 is a huge difference, after 140 every 1 k faster makes it more difficult, yes at this level direction swing matters, we are talking of devastating bowling , which is fast , directed, swing, ala Steyn and umplayable, these guys can do that , with aggression , I dont care about boundaries given at the cost of aggression.

and i know wht ur saying but for yadav in his first big series to expect so much would be wrong..steyn is steyn best bowler in the world yadav is just starting his career

steyn normally bowls in 130's and his avg is normally 138-139 he does bowls some occasional fiery spells but u cant always bowl like that steyn has 2 kind of spells one where he bowls at 138-139 and occasion 143 bowl others where he is all fired up bowling at 145 his bouncers are always quick but when he concentrates on swing he is little slower

That is why he is consistent and injury free, also has many strings to his bow, smart bowler.

That is why he is consistent and injury free' date=' also has many strings to his bow, smart bowler.[/quote'] yes and he is incredibly fit and really does not plays much odis he knows his bbody in australian series he said some times body does not responds the way he want it to so he keeps it tight and bowls within him and as he gets better he gives his all now a days with so much cricket u cant survive as a fast bowler if u play all games and always bowl at ur fastest pace its jsut too much no recovery time for body he normally bowls his best spell at end of day i noticed that when south africa played india :P

I think Aaron, Yadav, Zaheer & Ishant should play only in Tests. Trudlers can manage ODIs

Trudlers can manage ODIs[/quote'] Specially Zaheer, Ishant should only play ODI'S in important tours , Nechim , Munaf, VK, Aaron ,Umesh can play ODI'S with PK,and be rotated. For test's we should look at speed , fitness, stamina, find more talent also rookies with those requisites can be groomed in the side then trundlers from ODI side in the test squad.We can look at Gony , Anwar Ahmed, Tyagi , Dinda, Shukla, Shami Ahmed, Suyal for potential bowlers with pace and future test bowlers
