Tiger80 Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Came close but didnt get it' date='big difference.[/quote'] In 80s and 90s reaching 160 -170 was difficult .The way quality of bowling is going down and teams are putting bigger and bigger total ,I don't think it was unexpected that 200s will not be possible.Just look at the scorecard of 2nd ODI of Australia vs Bangladesh ,Watson made 185 in 26 overs, because the total of BD was 229 Watson was unable to to get more.If it would have been 1st innings then Don't know how many Watson could had put on board
gaurav92 Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Yes 200 in an ODI is much more tougher than 300 in Tests because in ODIs you need to get runs at a fair click since the number of overs is limited. Whereas in Tests one can bide his time and play safely to get to the milestone :--D
yoda Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 In ODIs you run out of time/deliveries. There have been many 150+ scores which could have been 200s. So yea more difficult in ODIs simply because you pretty much have to come within first 2-3 overs and bat all the way for 47 overs while maintaining a healthy RPO.
