Sachin=GOD Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 New Delhi: Former India spinner Anil Kumble resigned as the chairman of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) on Monday. Kumble, who had taken over as the NCA chief in September 2010, had his resignation accepted by the working committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The leg-spinner had repeatedly stressed on focusing on the future while keeping a firm grip on the present on cricket in India as chief of NCA. NCA is BCCI's premier cricket academy and was established in Bangalore in 2000. It was established with the aim of training young talents who have been identified as players with the potential to represent the national team. NDTV This may actually be good for Indian cricket as he already had too many responsibilities (KSCA, IPL, Tenvic).

Looking at the other names associated with the NCA I don't know how their 'vision' for the NCA could even compare with that of Kumble?? The politics in our board is sickening to the core.... we need guys like kumble managing things for the national team and not forced to quit.

Maybe Dada can do that Kumble himself admitted on a news channel CNN-IBN when the issue of Tenvic and his conflict of interest was raised that he also needs to look at his personal work and earn his living that is through Tenvic which is his sports management company. Being a chairman of NCA, there is nothing he is getting as this is a non-payment job and if he was to blame for conflict of interest then he decided to give up NCA chairman's job. Simple. I already knew this is going to happen sooner rather than later.

The real conflict of interest is between being the owner of Tenvic and Karnataka Cricket board President. Tenvic is managing a few Karnataka players and the Board President is one of the persons nominating the selector representing South Zone. The Board president can also influence the Central Board because of the politics of voting in BCCI elections. So if the same board president has a stake in the careers of players there is obviously a conflict of interest. Kumble obviously cannot stop his business. Therefore if he wants to avoid conflict of interest, he should step down from the Board President's seat.

And as for politics goes..Indian cricket and politics are inseperable however you shout...its run by born politicians

Kumble came on CNN-IBN and cleared all the issues, but it had to happen some day and was inevitable. There is nothing professional in BCCI. Why do not BCCI makes these positions paid rather than just honorary. They have enough money to do that. It will certainly introduce more professionalism and transparency in their work. They should employ former cricketers for these positions as professionals and pay them what they deserve for their services and everything will be alright.

Therefore if he wants to avoid conflict of interest' date=' he should step down from the Board President's seat.[/quote'] You have no idea what your talking about,this has nothing to do with conflict of interest.Jumbo quit because bcci corrupt babus had no vision and he came to know nothing can be done about that.Have you seen the nca committee-none have played cricket at any level and this srinivasan guy-don't know why he needs to be in every committee.As rkt said nca chairman and ksca chairman are honorary jobs-he does not get paid and that is why he runs tenvic.Why should he resign from ksca?In his short tenure he has brought about many changes right from grass root level.If he quits it some goonda or corrupt babu will take his place and ruin all the work he has done.As far as you saying he will influence the board members is a big joke.I dont know how you can think abt him like this after all he has done for india.Even when he was a captain he dint get a single player from his state.
