G_B_ Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Based on the T20 game played on the 16th the pitch seemed to have a lot of bounce and pace but in general the ball came onto the bat and will favour the stroke players. Its not a flat pitch. I would say a result pitch with 400 plus score achievable in the first innings through good batting. Highlights (about 3 min) http://pkpress.net/2011/12/melbourne-stars-vs-sydney-thunder-highlights-t20-big-bash-2011/ There appeared to be 4 pitch stripes but three appeared to be too nascent a stage to be considered ready for the test match in 10 days. Observations on My Part (a) Going hard at the ball seems to be the way forward. Play your strokes. ( By the time India play at the MCG a few more matches will be played there. If its the same pitch the wear and tear may mean more purchase for the spinners. Might go with a 2 seamer 2 spinner attack with Ojha playing. Questions to ICF posters (a) How long does it take to prepare a test wicket. Ie looking at the highlights posted can one of those greenish looking pitches be prepared in time for the match? ( will they be using drop in pitches for this test? Does anybody know? © What exactly are those dark spots on the pitch?

Old guy Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 mcg is normally very bad for india not cos of pichesb ut cos of lack of practice (as its the ground where first match of series is normally played) i hope we can atleast draw a match here this time if draw here chances of us winning increase as sydney will help spinners and adelaide is normally very flat and we did well last time in perth

Or a decent chunk of their batting atleast. Plus the fact that I do believe we have had a good warm this time around we do draw it.
