What are you saying mate? I even started rating Ponting ahead of Tendulkar around 06-07 when Ponting had totally gone berserk at run scoring. Then of course their fortunes reversed and Tendulkar seems to have left Ponting behind considerably. It's got nothing with what country you support, it's about the sport before that. Am I also expect to think Kapil is better than Imran because latter comes from our "arch rival" country? Bull.

They have ignored the fact that Tendulkar has played more than thrice the number of matches that Bradman did. On a per match basis, Bradman's score will be more than three times Tendulkar's. If Bradman played the same number of matches his score will be ~13000 on this rating compared to Tendulkar's 4000. do you have that much Inferiority complex...Sports is not country... Lot ofpeople here support EPL.La Liga etc and dont even follow Indian league..what you call them... Dont put too much Patriotism into sports..there are More importnat patriotic things than sports.. Showing Patrotism in Sports is easy as just type some words in internet or go and shout in Stadium during matches :winky:

I keep on harping about having a perspective. It would be like me saying Babe Ruth is better than Willie mays or Albert Pujols or Alex Rodriguez just because Ruth was far and away the best of his time (yes on the level of bradman). But put the latter three and Ruth together in the same frame, Does that tub of lard look like a fvckin athlete to you? Bradman being dominant is like me dominating my brother in backyard cricket. There is no comparison to be made between Bradman and Sachin (I'll even add dravid, lara, ponting and kallis) because then we're discussing 2 different eras: Amateur vs. Professional. Again: PERSPECTIVE. And Ofcourse, you would take Imran over Kapil since they played in the same era and you don't have to change lenses to compare them. Another thing. Its not as easy as to say that if Bradman had the same resources at hand as modern batsmen, he will be just as good in modern times as he was in his time. That is one assumption too far. In baseball, you've players who absolutely terrorize minor league pitching but just can't hack it at major leagues because of whatever flaws in their ability. These players are termed AAAA players because they own all levels uptil AAA (next level is major leagues).

I'm not a football fan but who wants to watch Indian league? It has got no talent. And we're not discussing about some domestic or professional league. We're discussing about players who represent their countries. So it is hard to separate being a fan and patriotism.

Supporting your country's team and claiming that as patriotism is very cheap kind of patriotism. But we are not in ideal world. Go and try doubting Bradman's supremacy on any Australian cricket forum.

Bradman played like a professional in an era of amateurs. I do not mind articles talking about helmets, friendlier wickets etc but they should atleast try to mention the advantage bradman had too.Bradman played against bowlers with little variety, in an era with horrible fielding standards compared to now,very little pitch variations. There was no need to adapt to different formats of the game or hardly any teams that played the game. He wasnt analysed for every flaw he had by software detailing his entire career. The list goes on. Just pick one or 2 and also mention them when this era cricket advantages are mentioned.
