Why do Australia always announce their team so early?

They do that in almost every Test they play. I've never seen any other team doing that in a consistent manner. The typical behavior is to announce the team at the coin toss, but Aussies act differently. Any specific reason? :hmmm::hmmm:

But the reason for most teams to wait until the last moment is to assess the final conditions and make necessary inclusions accordingly. Does this mean Aussies don't really care about the pitch/weather conditions etc?

you give me one answer..... You know Indian line-up thatz going 2 play on boxing day test. Yes. Everybody knows abt it. After Zaheer and Ishant are declared fit, it is goin 2 b same until some dramatic happens at d last moment. So, whatz with this childish games that we r goin 2 declare at the last moment. In other words, these r also tactics. Aussies want 2 show they r confident wid their line-up dat they can declare so early

I think it's because they have faith in mental & physical fitness of the players. I think that's a good thing because each and every one will be focused a bit more before the match.

It's certainly better than announcing a team midway during a test match or more importantly holding the all important IPL auction during an important ODI series.

If they are sure about their final XI, there is nothing wrong in announcing it early. It helps the players to get in the right mental frame.

Is a good practice as it lets the fringe players who will not get a game to go back and play first class cricket rather than warming the bench. Take the recent Ind-WI series, Rahane and Rahul Sharma dd not play a single Ranji match but warmed the bench all through the test series. Rahane lost his form due to that when he needed to be in touch for the Aus series, in case he was needed, not to be.

first part i agree.. even in England if they are not selectd in team they will go back to county even in short notice but i dont agree with what written in bold part...how you lose your form suddenly :dontknow: did u read Pattinsons interview in CI...he spent 2/3 away tours with OZ without a single match but he prepared well...

This is how it should be done. That indicates they know exactly what they are doing and it also gives enough time to the announced XI to do any mental/physical conditioning.

so the fans of an individual player find out whether their favorite boy is playing or not and so they do not have to wake up early to be left disappointing and smash their TV screens with their remote if their golden boy is not picked in the playing XI due to some grudge hold by the captain or the favoritism by the chief of selectors .
