go ask the idiot who decided to bring in Imran in a discussion on batting ....
Is it the same idiot who said the below. Hahahahahahaha...
In other words the Gap between SRT the bowler and Sobers the Bowler is not as wide as SRT the Batsman and Sobers the Batsman.
Unfortunately that idiot got the statements messed up. He wanted to say the gap between Sobers the batter and SRT the batter is less than the gap between Sobers the bowler and SRT the bowler. Hehehe

I don't give much about random comments being made w/o much understanding of how the discussion has advanced My "overlapping" (or whatever you may call) theory suggests that atg batsmen hv been able to adjust with the challenges of their times. With the current generation serving as a link b/w its immediate past and future. So Lutton who played in dbg's time also played a bit in sobers time. Richards did that for sobers and tendulkar. The batsman hv adjusted to the challenges thrown at them when the debuted and of 2 decades later, with other guy debuting and adjusting to challenges 2 decades later and so on Now how does the above show samervera > Richards? I do not want to know the answer if you are just picking posts randomly, portraying yourself as a neutral but with main focus on arguing with those who think DBG is the greatest, and so on. If you know something, there are high chances of it being already considered ....
Because using this absurd logic one could argue that current batsmen can also adjust to the conditions and changes in the years gone by as inverse argument can be made as well. If we have to accpet this logic as true then we have to accept that modern batsmen who have all the equipments too would have played pacers as well as Richards did.Thats where the logic fails. Thats why i used the example of Samaraweera vs Richards. There is no way most of these batsmen of this generation (Sehwag or jayawardne or Samaraweera) who average 50+ would have averaged similarly in 80s or 90s. Basically u are degrading the tough conditions and high quality bowlers batsmen of 80's and 90's faced. U are basically making a link when u cant take into account most of the intangible qualities and changes.
Well, anyone poking his note on this thread isn't a neutral. Your purpose of cherry picking on arguments is because you think more abt SRT
Not everyone is obsessed with Sachin as u do.

An ATG by definition is someone who can be great in any timeframe Are you suggesting samervera is an atg? If not, what's the point in giving such examples PS for degration, you should be talking to the likes of BB

Just look at your own case ... you know very little about the topic and yet arguing doggedly while you have seen a whole lot of Tendulkar bat live. Once you figure out the reason why you are doing this ... you would have found the answer to your own question.
i am thinking why you bring this Brainwash angle aginst a guy who Averaged close to 100 when his nearest rivals are around 35 points less across the history of game.. How could it possible even if some agreed to u r theory of No great bowlimng, all flat pitches ,no problem of sweat or weight beciuase of helmets etc.. I am unable to convince my self that this guy should have a failure in this era while all players from this era should have averaged over 100 in old days.. Whenever it suiys them people ignore Stats and go for Video ...then why should 100 centuries all those matter we can all watch some players and decide by seing in video who is great :dontknow:

And Iam talking about how Viv is not a equal legend to place him alongside SRT in the first place. And secondly there is no proof of adjustment i see in his own career. SRT is playing just as he was in his prime.
First one is not being discussed .... Viv is an ATG legend :--D 2nd, you yourself said that SRT has adjusted nicely to the standards of late 2000s despite debuting 2 decades earlier in late 80s (the standards of late 2000s could actually be less than 1980s though :winky: ) .... and you are suggesting that there is no proof :giggle: Make any chain you wish and it's not hard to see how the ATGs show a continuation Bradman (28-48) ----> Hutton (37-55) -----> Sobers (54-74) -----> Richards/Gavaskar (debut in 1970s) -----> Tendulkar/Waugh (debut in late 80s) -----> Dravid/Ponting (debut in 90s) ----> Sehwag (debut in 2000s)

And Tendulkar is a Super Legend ... comeback here when you can find a legend of his standing. You will be typically be searching for a legend who doubled the performances of the best batsman from his previous generation in both Tests and ODIs. Secondly whats Sobers done in ODIs ? Big fat nothing even if you pretend that the List-A games he played where Internationals ? There you go teri gaddi phir sey atak gayi donkey_cart_heavy_load_middle_east_india.jpg By the time he retires Tendulkar would have scored pretty close to the combined runs tally of Viv and SMG ... he is kinda almost done the twice for the ODI numbers. So you need to pretend that Viv + SMG = One legend then perhaps your thyori will fly

^^ hehe...someone's choker bhagwan failed to do any chamatkar again. Has not done any for 22 years...but hey maybe choking for 22 years at a strech is a chamatkar. Hahahahaha.. I bet Viv+ Lara+Ponting+ Sunny+ Sobers+S. Waugh combined cannot imagine choking for 22 years in a row. The choker must touch the feet of Dhoni and Gambo every morning for getting him some glory in 22 years. hehehe...

Yeah..i don't lose my patriotism because I expose SRT's true aaukat. Probably a million times the Patriot you can be. You said the choker scoring a ton is more important than India winning somewhere. Disgusting. Stop watching cricket . This is indiancricketfans.com not tenchokersfan.com
